Although the line was quite long, we decided to wait to dine. Eventually, we were able to get a seat at the outdoor patio and enjoyed a cocktail while we waited. Once we were seated, our service was excellent as was the food. We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we returned for another meal within the same week.

Must go. Go to stand in line at 4:00so you can seating at 5:00when restaurant opens. Otherwise you will wait for a table for 2 hours. But the food is worth it. Delicious. My daughter bought a cookbook and the chef came out to sign it and talked with her. Very humble guy. Very impressed!

We had heard great things about this place, and it did not disappoint. The margaritas and tequila were top notch, not too sweet at all. The food was excellent, and of course, there's the view from the outside patio.
Make sure you fit this one into your trip to Sedona.

This place serves authentic food from the Southwest along with an extensive, quality selection of tequilas. Our server asked what type of tequila we liked, we took her recommendations for our margaritas, and we were not disappointed. The bar list also offers flights of top shelf tequila available.

But the food...wow! We shared a romaine salad along with pork belly tacos to start. The salad was crisp and refreshing, and went well with the tacos. Who would have thought--pork belly in a taco? Excellent idea. The lamb adobo was tender and lean, with plenty of sauce. The smoked pork cheeks had full smoked flavor without making you feel like you had smoke in your throat; the texture was soft and creamy. We also ordered the chef's two cookbooks and, as we were finishing dessert, he came by the table to chat briefly and sign them! Class act.

Now about the wait--yes, it is worth it. We were going to go on a Saturday, but decided to switch our dining plans so that we could go on a hopefully less-crowded Thursday. We arrived at 4:10 with magazines in hand (fifth and sixth in line). We would recommend arriving no later than about 4:25, because that was when larger groups started joining the line. The restaurant opened for seating at about 4:50, so the wait was not bad. We chose the certainty of 30-45 minutes over coming later when seating could take longer. Weekends and high season might require coming a little earlier.

There are already zillions of five-star glowing positive reviews of this restaurant. So I won't add to any more of these except to say that they are all true and the food here is fabulous. If you visit Sedona and don't eat here you've missed one of the natural wonders of Sedona.

This incredibly popular restaurant usually opens for dinner at 5 PM but people start lining up well before that around 4:30 PM. If you show up during dinner hours after six typically there will be a one or two hour wait. Now if you like drinking, that's not a problem as they have a very pleasant bar area and delicious drinks.

But if you're not a big drinker, this may be too long to wait.

There are a couple of ways to avoid the weight. You can swing by before 5 PM and put your name on the waiting list, and then go off and do some shopping or something else. When you come back, even if they've already called your name, you will still be at the top of the line and can eat right away. (Double check this as this was true last year when we were there.)

The other way to avoid waiting is take out. They start accepting take out orders at 5:30 PM so we called in a takeout order at that point. Then we drove over to the restaurant where our takeout order was ready about 15 minutes later. On your way back from hiking or some other sightseeing make the phone call to Elote to order your takeout.

The restaurant provides a very nice takeout experience. They have utensils, takeout containers, and if you asked them even a couple of glasses of water. You can be in and out of the restaurant in 10 or 15 minutes total.

Recommended dishes are of course the Elote corn dish, which is there namesake dish and is a remarkably delicious mixture of flavors. We also had the empanadas which have very interesting textures and flavors and the fish tacos. All of our food came with plenty of corn chips. These three appetizer dishes were plenty of food for two people and our grand total before tip was about $36.

Be aware that the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays so if you plan to go make sure you plan ahead, especially if you're only in Sedona for a few days. I recommend you go the first day you are in Sedona because most likely you want to go back.

The appetizers are quite large and a selection of appetizers makes for a very interesting meal for a reasonable amount of money.

We had dinner at or number of restaurants in Sedona and by far this was the best. It's not typical Mexican food but more like gourmet Mexican.
