I thoroughly enjoyed my posada room on my last visit, but since there were three of us staying this time, we opted for a two bedroom casita suite that is ideal for couples traveling together, since both bedrooms have comfortable beds and each room has their own huge bathroom with a jetted tub.The casita was beautifully tiled throughout and very clean. The large living room included a fireplace, large screen tv, a stereo, and wine glasses, everything we needed for a perfect getaway. We enjoyed the casita, the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, the happy hour at the bar, the beautiful views, the low key feeling, the shops, and the historic setting so much that we booked a second night.

Room Tip: Casita 115 has a more private patio than most rooms. Rooms 23-30 would have a sunset view, but are f...

If you live in Phoenix or Tucson and are looking for a great place for an overnight or even longer stay, you have to go to the Tubac Golf resort and Spa. It's an older (which is much better in my view) resort with tons of charm and beauty. The restaurant is like no other, with the views and ambiance. Be sure to take your clubs and enjoy the "Tin Cup" experience. The small town of Tubac is great to just walk around in and do a little shopping. We look forward to returning with more friends.

Room Tip: Get a suite with a fireplace if you go during the cooler months.

We stayed here for five days and everything was very nice. We were in the two bedroom casita which has a living room. The bathrooms are gorgeous with the tiling and a deep jetted tub and large shower. The beds are comfy, the fireplace is very cozy and the grounds are immaculate. We ate breakfast at The Stables every day and the food is great and the service excellent. We had dinner there one night and it was extremely nice.

There is a refrigerator but no microwave which would have helped with our leftovers. Good wifi in the rooms but not out on the grounds. Poor cell phone reception for AT&T in the room but we could get it outside. Verizon was better. Spa massage very nice. Great gift shop. Overall very impressive. Definitely the nicest place to stay in Tubac.

The only thing I thought was kind of chintzy was their 'honor basket' of goodies left in the room which charged $3.50 for a small bag of M&Ms or bottle of water. Surely after spending over $1400 for a five day stay they should be able to throw in a complimentary snack basket.

Room Tip: Ask them to give you one with good wifi it that's important to you. Also get one of the newly r...

If you need to get away and don't want the hassle of airline travel or a long drive, Tubac is a treasure that will restore and refresh you just about an hour from Tucson. The Tubac Golf Resort property is green, with old trees, in a historic setting. They have a cozy bar with live music on the weekends, a restaurant with excellent food served in front of huge picture windows, a 5 star spa and the rooms, especially the hacienda king suites, are so luxurious and comfortable that you feel like you've escaped Tucson completely. The point is that you don't have to go far or spend that much to feel relaxed, pampered and renewed.

Room Tip: The hacienda suites are the top choice.

We had booked a Posada room several months in advance and when we arrived around 5:30 p.m., we were assigned a room that overlooked the parking lot. We asked if they had any other rooms on the grounds and they said they were booked. When they saw our disappointment, they immediately upgraded us to a Casita Suite at no extra charge. The suite was large and well furnished but needed some updating. When we arived at the room, the scree door was half off its track and partially hanging loose at the front door. The shower/tub combo did not function properly and the shower couldn't generate enough pressure due to the fact most of the water flow was still going out of the tub faucet. However, having the extra space was nice and we also had a wood burning kiva fireplace with a good supply of wood which we used every night.

Although we weren't crazy about being charged a $45 resort fee, the friendly and helpful staff and beautiful grounds make this a place we would return to.

Room Tip: Rooms off the parking lot will be quieter and you won't have headlights shining into your room a...
