Our site (#48) unfortunately lacked shade, and the lake lacked water (it was more of a puddle really) but the restrooms were some of cleanest we'd ever seen and park hosts were friendly and helpful. Roads and trailer spots are easy to park and navigate.

Stopped on our way home from the Grand Canyon and what a wonderful place to camp. Set in the tall pines with blacktop roads, well spaced level blacktop pads, clean restrooms, picnic tables, grills and a small lake. While the lake is down from lack of snow this year the wind through the pines and the smell of the pines more than made up for the low water level in the lake. For those who need water, sewer, electric and cable TV, look for a KOA... but if you like the peace and quiet of the pines this is one of the best places we have stayed.

We camped hear for three days in our 40 foot MH. Had a great site in Loop A (wish I remembered the number) close to the lake, with parking on a level and recently paved parking area with heavy cement tables and a nice above ground grill.
Were taking our grandkids on their first ever camping trip next month and we will definitely make this a stop on the way to the Grand Canyon.
With the summer Monsoon rains the campsites are starting to green up a little. The lake however remains quite low...Campsites are well spaced with lots of room between camp sites.

We made a last minute trip to the Grand Canyon while traveling home on I-40 so didn't have lodging plans. We figured the park campgrounds would be full and they were, but this was a great find. The sites are fairly well spread out. The vault toilets look pretty clean, although there was some odor nearby. When looking for a site, check the dates on the reservations as many that we first thought were reserved turned out to be for future dates.

The camp host was friendly and sells firewood. The biggest problem we had here was swarmy little bugs that were attracted to the lantern. They were so bad we ended up hanging on in the tent most of the evening after it got dark, rather than sitting out at the table.

It's a quick drive off I-40 so convenient if you are traveling through or coming back from the Grand Canyon, about 45-60 minutes away.

I was on a trip for the summer and decided to go to the Grand Canyon. We decided to "wing it" and find a place to stay on our way up to Arizona from central California where I live. I had arrived to the small town of Williams,AZ and decided the eight hour drive was enough so it was time to start looking for campgrounds. In Williams, AZ I had visited a forest ranger station who advised us of the campgrounds in the area and their benefits or differences. Since Kaibab was about a mile, or less, from the small but beautiful city we had decided to stay there. The prices were great for the area. There are no showers for tent campers, no flushing toilets, but there are toilets. The area was beautiful, the campgrounds were spacious, and every hour or so there was the campground host that would pass by in their red golf cart always waving to everyone which made us feel welcomed. This campsite is about 50 miles from the Grand Canyon. On the way to the Grand Canyon I visited much closer campgrounds. They were less desirable, I will always stay at Kaibab lake campground if I'm ever traveling around Williams, AZ again. I felt welcomed, the area is beautiful, the campsites are nice, and overall a great place that I enjoyed and stumbled on last minute.
