Situated just five minutes away from Patan Darbur Square and in the throes of the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu - is the life story guest house. We weren’t sure what to expect as we walked into the entrance square which contains many old buildings, children playing and a stunning Buddhist temple - but we were very pleasantly surprised by the interior. They also have a rooftop where we relaxed and drank tea to settle in after our flight.
The receptionists and staff were probably the most attentive we have ever had being helpful from providing tourist advice to ensuring that we had the most maximum comfort. We cannot fault that all. There was so much help in terms of ensuring that we had a taxi even at the early hours of the morning!
Breakfast is provided and doesn’t not disappoint. There are a few options which are cooked really well, and I tried the banana pancakes/ French toast.
Another quirk that you can expect is a 5am gong for the outdoor temple which has a routine outdoor morning ritual that you are lucky to witness and be quite close to. In the evening there was also a mass dhol practice and kids playing football for hours, so you aren’t insulated from the ‘real’ culture of Nepal.
Would highly recommend and completely appreciate the lovely service provided by the staff at the hotel! Thank you!More
