I thoroughly recommend the KSB if you are looking for a great steak in nice surroundings where you can watch the food being cooked over the open fire.

I had the bull steak, which was probably a 12 ouncer, but there were far bigger ones available. It's good to see that these are available as the French and even some Spanish are known for using only ex milker female cows, which can be tough and stringey, as they are both old and from breeds meant for good dairy not good meat.

The sides go with the meat perfectly with barbecued roast spuds with cream cheese and green beans. Also, the charcuterie starter was excellent value as it fed the four of us whilst we watched the meat cooking away over the logs.

Well worth the visit and the fact that this place has been in the same hands for 19 years tells you something in a place with so much choice.

It was the first night we arrived in Pas de la Casa, and it was LATE! Around midnight I think, and we asked the concierge where we could get some food at this ungodly hour. He told us to try KSB, right behind the hotel.

KSB is a tiny little bar tucked away - and almost hidden - in an alley behind the Kandahar. So when my wife and I found it, we expected very little.

Besides maybe 2-3 people enjoying a quiet beer, the place was empty, so we were seated at the window overlooking the slopes. We both ordered a cheeseburger and crossed our fingers that it wouldn't be like eating hot garbage...

And what came next was mind blowing.

The waiter/bartender brought us 2 large wooden slabs upon which had been placed some of the most gorgeous gourmet burgers I've ever experienced. Between slices of what could only have been home-made bread, a thick, juicy, flame-grilled beef patty sat covered in cheddar and onions. The fries were thick cut wedges, fried but not greasy, and covered in proprietary seasoning, and next to it all was a little bowl of garlic aioli!

Not only were we deeply surprised, but we had one of the best burger-based meals we've ever had! At midnight, in a tiny bar!

What a place!

It only loses one star because the decor is kinda... a bar, rather than restaurant. But that's just cuz I'm hyper-critical.

After a recommendation from a holiday rep we entered to find a pleasant bar. We spent 25 euros on wine (nice) and diabolical cheese nachos with squeesey cheese on. But hey the view of the piste made up for it. But no, we had not spent enough to sit with a view, the male owner/manager rudely told us to sit elsewhere even though I pointed out we would stay for food. There remained ten or more empty tables by the sacred windows. On a plus side his partner was apologetic but sadly this left us too piste(d) and we left. The moral of the story is go elsewhere

This restaurant has great view on the slopes and nice woodfire Steaks! Reasonably priced and cheap drinks just after skiing (half a liter beer for only 2 euros is a real bargain)

We are here all week and it was top. Very good meet and very well done. The service is wonderful: nice, professional and very sympathetic.
This is the restaurant to go in Pas de La Casa.
