Owner description: Built in 1967, this 7-story memorial statue of Jesus is on the grounds of The Great Passion Play and overlooks Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

This statue of Christ is located on a hill overlooking Eureka Springs and adjacent to where the famous Passion Play is performed. This area and its religious elements will probably appeal mostly to Christians of all denominations. But I would recommend even those who are of other faiths or dare I say even athiests (... obviously open minded ones!) should visit the Christ of the Ozarks. It's an impressive statue set among beautifully designed grounds and surrounded by nice views.
I had only one afternoon to visit Eureka Springs and I was glad to have made this spot one of the sights I included in my short itinerary.

The statue of Christ was unbelievably beautiful--it took my breath away! The grounds and gardens were beautiful too--but too early in May for the multitude of rose bushes to be blooming.

This was just a part of the Passion Play experience. I have COPD and there were golf carts and drivers available to take you down the hill to the statue. This is free of charge. This statue is huge and I could have just watched it forever...The Passion Play was excellent. We were there on opening day/night and the performance was flawless. All employees were very friendly and professional. The buffet was very nice.

We were pleasantly surprised at the size of this statue, the area is peaceful with beautiful views of the surrounding area, didn’t see the play but it was a nice stop.

Didn't see play as it wasn't open yet but the statue and free petting zoo was a big success with kiddos
