The home is very old and has all the beautiful detail of old homes. The garden is lovely with flowers, fruit trees and vegetables. The dinner was the best I have had and was more than I could eat. My personal favorite was the fried Brie. The breakfast, coffee and fireplace were excellent! I felt very comfortable. I would not bring young children.

Thank you for posting your very kind review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the dinner and the deep fried Brie. The old house has survived our own children and their friends. But it is now a haven for our guests.
Kind regards,
Warwick and Anne

We stayed one night (alas) at Mornington House, on our way from business in Dublin to vacation on the west coast.

The house is charming, the hosts are lovely, and the food was simply brilliant. Multiple courses, each better than the previous.

Breakfast the next morning was tailor-made, and just as nice.

It was a warm spell in Ireland, and I had to open a window to relieve the stuffiness.

Everything else was brilliant.

Wonderful unassuming house with a homely feel and a warm welcome. The breakfast and dinner was delicious and we were treated like special guests by the wonderfully kind Warwick and Anne. We had a wonderful stay - we had been travelling around Ireland for a week and needed a relaxing break, and Mornington House was just that. Lovely (wild) walk down to the lake, and delightful spots to sit in the garden. We were there with our toddler and baby. We were a bit unsure whether our (frantic and busy) toddler would make things difficult, but Warwick and Anne were very accommodating and kind, got out toys for him to play with, and fortunately there were no other guests! Thank you Warwick and Anne. I do hope that we will visit again.

Enjoyed our one night stay in this lovely, historic home. Down a country lane and situated in a meadow, it was a welcome respite from busy Dublin. We felt like pampered guests of hosts Warwick and Anne, who prepared a wonderful, multi course dinner for us, served in the red walled dining room. Breakfast was of the same top quality. Don't miss a walk through the walled garden at the back of the house!

Mornington is just brilliant, there is an excellent Breakfast, really friendly hosts and a lovely old house and garden. It's a beautiful country location. A really genuine friendly reception by the owners Warwick and Anne, they even served us tea in the drawing room when we arrived, and put a hot water bottle in the bed before we got home. The breakfast room is like something from Downtown Abbey really amazing. I highly recommend a stay here.
