A friend had recommended this place to me a few years ago and finally I made it and was not disappointed. It's simply a little bit of heaven. If your preference is for manicured gardens then perhaps this isn't for you. The place has an unspoiled semi-tamed wildness if that make sense. Very peaceful and calming with lots of benches and shady places to sit and take in the views. Sadly didn't seen any kingfishers but spoke with a lady who had just seen one from the hide. Visited the tea rooms for a cuppa and a bit of cake - all perfectly fine and not unreasonably prices. There is plenty of parking and toilets by the tea room. A blissful way to spend a couple of hours.
