Description: The Oat Hill public house serves a fusion of modern British cuisine, with an extensive selection of wines, cask ales, a great list of draught and bottled world beers. A selection of spirits and cocktails to rival any bar in London all this set in the art deco surroundings of this wonderful building with well established & landscaped gardens. A real gem in Leicestershire.

I had the 3 course Sunday roast which was around £20. The beef salad starter was excellent. Roast beef main also very good. The best was the dessert which was the chocolate orange mouse, so good!!!! Good drinks menu - plenty of gin and rum!

Would highly recommend.

Had a nice meal on a quiet evening as snow obviously stopped many diners from appearing.

Service was excellent.

Crispy pork belly very good.

Staff reserved a car parking place for us because of our handicapped passenger and were very helpful. The range of gluten-free dishes is good. The meat delivery had failed that day (well, it was a Monday) but there was plenty of other choice. Service quick and good. We shall return.

This place has a good reputation locally but based on last night’s performance, god knows how. We arrived on time but because our table for 4 wasn’t ready we were ushered through to the bar for a drink. It was absolutely rammed with a band playing in the background. That was just about bearable but it then took us 15 mins to get a drink and the 15 minute table delay became over a half hour.

The staff were very good but 3 dishes on the menu weren’t available. The food took another half hour to arrive and was really disappointing. I had the cod loin which was dry and over cooked and sitting on a few boiled spuds. Veg was extra. All 4 of us agreed that for the price, the food was at best ok.

I was still hungry after the fish so rather than have a pud I opted for the cheese and biscuits. Stilton was promised but none arrived. Three tiny pieces of what might have been Red Leicester, Generic Cheddar and Brie - all fridge cold and tasteless. And no butter.

We’d all just about given up by then but to their credit, the staff remained friendly. Shame really we won’t be going back.

Visited the Oat hill on more than one occasion. Had a meal there for a social event and it was very well cooked.

Cocktails taste great, however are a little expensive.
