Booked the hotel early 2016 as I knew it was going to be sold out fairly quickly. In my opinion, the site has cashed in on the European tourist euro and although I understand it will help Ullapool survive in a big way, I think it has added too much to the accomodation. My room was small, with a bathroom whose door hit the toilet on opening, and everybody's toilet functions near our room were heard which is not ideal. I understand tat it is an old building, but the Dutch and Germans may also have something to say about that. Décor was tired, but this is not to say it wasn't clean, because it was. Without breakfast included in the price, £125.00 was about £40 too much for the view. Food was good and staff very good at working a music night with food to serve and probably the smallest bar in the village to work in. Smile first and they will smile back, but overall it lacks the ability to rise to the price and unless they change that, the British may baulk at the money, or, in this day and age, they may just pay it and continue on the theme park roller coaster that the world is fast becoming when location is king.
