What agreat place very interesting the lady that showed us around was passionate about her work which is fantastic , every thing is as local as you changed it . Interesting to see all the processes. And you can purchase wonderful products in the shop up stairs ,everyone was helpful and had to rugs send home, one for us and one for the dog. Which arrive the day after we got back .
Great to hear that your purchases made it home around the same time as yourselves. Thanks for coming & reviewing.

Hi Valerie,
Brilliant to hear that you enjoyed your experience here at Skyeskyns having been a little sceptical before coming. We hope you learned a little too! Our brand new website is going live next week so we do hope to give a better image of the unique experience at Skyeskyns.

What a wonderful experience touring the Skyeskyns factory was! We had an excellent tour and all parts of their jobs were discussed and demonstrated. Our guide had a quick wit and was so informative & pleasant. A great experience & one I highly recommend!
Thanks for sharing your photo's and experience!
Dave is very pleased with the quick wit comment - we might never hear the end :D
We hope you enjoyed your stay here on Skye.

Excellent traditional craft business tour showing how sheepskin rugs and other products are made on site. Guide was well informed and amusing and product showroom is first class!
It is nice to hear that you enjoyed your visit Graham. We feel that it is very important to educate our customers in the skill involved in making sheepskin items.
Thanks for reviewing.

At last- something not made in China!!! ``Skyeskyns" is a traditional workplace that produces sheepskins straight from the sheep and puts them through a series of fascinating processes that end in a product that is first rate. The skins are beautiful and are made into rugs, gloves, slippers and a host of other things. - you can even have bespoke items, too, The beauty of it is that you can be treated to a conducted tour of the small factory, learn all about the age-old process and marvel at the conditions under which, in the past, these sheepskins were transformed in things of beauty. Kids will love to see this process - and Mum and Dad can learn, too!
Bet sure and see all this - it's well worth a couple of hours of your time.
We are really pleased that the whole family enjoyed the experience here at Skyeskyns. Many thanks for writing an in-depth review. We strive to supply items made in the UK as well as our own manufactured goods so it is nice to see it noticed!

We made a stop in at Skyeskyns during our visit to Skye and had a great little tour of the workshops where we learned the process they use for making their amazing skins. The gallery was great as well and a perfect spot to grab a reasonably priced gift for someone or yourself. Don't miss the "seconds" pile near the door to the right - we grabbed a great skin for a fraction of the price.
Many thanks for coming to see us in Waternish. Our 'seconds' pile is often very popular as the imperfections can be minimal. We hope you enjoy your sheepskin memento for years to come. Best wishes, the team
