My fourth visit to the Miklin, so plenty of old friends to greet. Staff were all lovely as always and there had been some definite improvements - the shower was much more reliable, the television had improved and there was a charming new team at reception who actually seemed to be able to get things done; when I reported the usual small niggles they were fixed in a breathtakingly short time - well done Miklin!

Of course there were a few minuses, the most important being the absence of Wi-Fi for the first four or five days of a week's stay. This was a big minus for anyone needing contact with business of family, although the ridiculously cheap rates to call home with a Ghanaian SIM card in your phone made up for some of this.

Secondly the food still takes a long time to arrive, particularly if you make the mistake of ordering a Spanish omelette - delicious but very late! The staff in the bar and restaurant are always charming, but even Stanley's charm wears a bit thin as you wait for that omelette. On the plus side, the Miklin seems to have found a real treasure in Christine, who was always efficient as well as charming and deserves rapid promotion.

After spending some time in the Golden Tulip I would go for the Miklin's individual charms at half the price every time - just get that Wi-Fi fixed!

Stayed over a weekend. Climb to second floor room was tedious, not to mention long, narrow corridor. Room was clean and nice. Everything worked as expected. Staff is attentive and responsive. Breakfast offering is very basic.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on lower floors as there is no elevator available.

Nice and quiet hotel with comfortable beds and good wifi. Not too close to the city centre but away from traffic. Efficient and helpful staff. Great food and nice restaurant. It is a bit more expensive than most hotels I stayed on during my trip around Ghana.

The hotel is very nice and modern, staff is courteous, and location is ideal (away from traffic). The room was clean and well kept. Great restaurant with the best service I've had in West Africa. I got a haircut at the salon, probably the best haircut I've had since coming to West Africa as well. I would stay here again.

Have stayed here and enjoyed it on a few occasions in the distant past so was looking forward to this visit as well with my program group of 25 people. The place is clean and roomy. The staff friendly, helpful and responsive. The food great and the location convenient (taxi and walking) to central Kumasi as well as several night spots. Don't walk at night though. For a 2-star hotel in Ghana it doesn't get much better than this.

Room Tip: The 2nd floor rooms overlooking the pool and restaurant are good for seeing the comings and goings.
