This is a must see museum which shares wonderful information about the early Jewish settlers of Sousua, their journey and great contributions to the community.
The museum and Synagogue are well maintained and relatively small, so can be visited in about an hour. The story of Sosua’s Jewish community is that of a fascinating and unexpected journey, particularly meaningful in today’s world of multiple refugee crises. The people working there are also very knowledgeable (although only speak Spanish).
Do yourself a favour and read up about the Jews who immigrated to Sosua in the mid forties, this little museum, 300 peso entry fee, if full of history, sorrow and growth of the town of Sosua. Located beside the Casa Marina resort. Recommended as an adult visit.
Interesting facts but as museums go, nothing worthwhile seeing other than lots o newspaper articles and facts. The synagogue was interesting to see
The first time we visited this museum it was wonderful - a wealth of information about the Jewish history on the island. This time it was closed due to illness so we weren't able to visit.
Cost was nominal, 150 pesos, wanted to visit because my sister in law is Jewish and I like to learn as much as I can. We spent approximately 40 minutes looking around. The docent also showed us the synagogue. I would recommend visiting if in Sosua.
