On entering this museum, I overheard a patron’s scathing remark on being so thankful that she is not ‘a collector’. To each his own, although, we are all collectors.....even only of memories. And the memories inside this establishment cannot be explained. Whether you are particularly interested in toys does not matter at all. There is something interesting around every corner....and items we all know. The museum is small, but brimful with lovely toys from yesteryear and more contemporary pieces. It only costs R10 per adult and R5 per child to enter. The proprietor and I had a chat about the low entrance fee and unfortunately the future seems quite bleak. The entrance fees are not enough for the upkeep of the museum. More visitors are needed. And possibly donations! An established, charming, one-of-a-kind museum like this cannot be lost because of a few rands. So everybody, move your bodies towards Simon’s Town and go visit this gem.

This small museum contributes to the attractions of Simon's Town with something for kids and the child in all of us. It features a unique personal collection of thousands of toys -- die-cast cars (the majority), ships and planes, working electric trains, lead soldiers, dolls and other categories. There are also many new models for sale. Best value in town for R10 entry!

Not really that big, don't have huge expectations if you go here. Our son who is 7 wasn't that impressed. More for adults who want some nostalgia.

It is a real gem. Very special collection of train sets and soldiers and cars, not full of scary Victorian porcelain dolls. More miniature toys. Brings back great childhood memories. Enjoyed it more than expected.

There are interesting displays of toys on every shelf, including miniature figurines of soldiers with tanks and buildings which were delightful. The model train display was amazing and my son enjoyed it immensely. You won’t spend much time here but for the minor entrance fee, it’s not time wasted either.
