An outstanding Mahal, you can wander for hours, and never get enough, it's such a romantic place in a beautiful setting on the Betwa riverside

Nothing to watch for, except building. The rooms are not lighted. No proper light source, except may be mobile torch. Plain walls, stinky and uneven staircase. Jharokhas are good.

Its a beautiful palace. There is lot of walking and climbing required and if you are with old people or have walking problems then you might face issues.

The same ticket can be used for entry which was purchased for the orchha fort. Both are next to each other. Hiring a guide would be a good idea so that you can get a proper deal of the place and it's history.

The palace in its heydays must be ten times more stunning with with blue green paint which has now all but got eroded. The palace has various levels and if you can manage you must climb to the top level to see the various other stunning monuments nearby.

The palace has a mix of Hindu and Muslim architecture. You can see the RaiPraveen Mahal from the fort and walk down as well in case you are interested in exploring that as well. You must also see the camel stables. The way to Rai Praveen Mahal is through the camel stables.

Keep atleast 3 hours for the visit if you are a history buff. After the visit you can have lunch at the restaurant in Sheesh Mahal restaurant nearby which serves good food at reasonable prices.

The sound and light show in the evening was a must visit. The show in English is first and then in Hindi. It was better than the one we saw in Orchha with all the drama and intrigue associated with the palace life. Do wear full sleeved clothed to protect yourself from mosquitoes and carry an umbrella if you are visiting in the monsoon months.

One of the main attractions of Orchha. A nice built fort but upkeep was not good. The place just before entrance was stinky. But overall a good place to see when in Orchha
