Staying in Pollensa and had been looking up at the top of the mountain we could see the tower of this building and decided to explore.
The climb was steep but straightforward until past the halfway mark when the concrete surface changed to cobbles and made it a little trickier to walk on unless you had the right footwear on. Having said that, on the way down we passed a couple of cyclists who were walking on the cobbles with their bikes and the male was in his socks as his cycling shoes were of no use on the cobbles!
At the top we walked around the outside and took in the spectacular views which took in the Cap Formentor cliffs as well as the bays of Acudia and Pollensa, there were also panoramic views inland.
We were able to view the inside of the chapel and the large refectory and kitchen, these were very interesting. There are displays in the passageway from the church to the refectory of various pieces of ceramics, metal urns and old tools.
There is a small cafe/restaurant where you can have a meal, there isn't an extensive menu but it's adequate. Outside there is a small outside terrace where you can relax with a cold drink whilst taking in the views.
In the grounds there are also a number of picnic tables where you can eat and drink your own stuff that you'd taken with you.
The descent was a lot easier, we wouldn't have missed this experience and recommend it, just take your time.

Around 45 minutes to get to the top and 35 minutes down. Make sure you wear sturdy footwear as the tarmac turns to cobbles from around halfway. Views from the top over the bay of Pollenca and Formentor peninsular are amazing. Basic cafe at top for refreshments and you can explore the chapel whilst up there.

Walked from the bottom with a 4 year old and 9 year old. As others have said, the cobbles you walk on at the top part can be slippy so wear sensible footwear. It took us between 30-45 mins to get there with photo stops and without hurrying ourselves. It really is worth stopping to appreciate the view, it's beautiful. Cafe at the top seems reasonably priced and we enjoyed some ice creams before making our way back down.
