This is not a hard walk but towards the top the steps are worn and shiny. I wouldn't recommend doing it in the rain, and wearing good shoes is sensible, more for the descent than the ascent. The view from the top is exquisite and well worth the climb. Ask the lady in the cafe/shop where to find the secret balcony with the best views.

Advertised as a 2.2km stroll, this was more like an uphill hike. Views across the valley to Polenca old town were lovely, with Calvario Church on the opposite hillside. Convenient cafe in monastery with good priced sandwiches. BE ADVISED: last 500m on rough stone path, so essential to wear reasonably sturdy shoes / trainers... but NOT flip-flops

For nice site seeing, visit Puig de Pollenca, on the hill and you will have a wonderful view, and the age old building invite you in a back old time, the walk is on uneven stones, you must wear footingshoes; you are glad to drink a coffee on the top; and it goes better down.

The 30 minute "ish" walk is not to be taken lightly - mostly rough road ending in a stony track that is glass like after the 1000s of people have worn the cobbles over the years.

Once at the top the views are breathtaking. Make time to explore inside and see how life was in the past - not forgetting the welcome cafe.

The walk down is probably the most uncomfortable on the knees.
