With a name like the Prawnster, who could help but want to check out this new addition to the Brisbane dining scene?

The Prawnster is a boat berthed at Dockside at Kangaroo Point, with a floating pontoon next to it. There are some small tables on the boat, and some tables for larger groups on the pontoon.

The menu is super basic - fresh seafood served straight off the trawler, and nothing else. Literally nothing else. Not only do you bring your own drinks, you bring your own plates, cutlery, bread, salad or whatever else you fancy! So, come prepared is what I’m saying.

My husband and I shared the $90 platter for 2 people, of prawns, bugs, salmon sashimi and 6 oysters. There are 3 or 4 cheaper platter options on offer too.

The seafood was delicious. I wouldn’t say it was particularly cheap, but I guess you are paying in part for the experience of dining on a boat or pontoon, which was indeed a lot of fun.

Beautiful oysters freshly shucked! Prawns were magnificent. Guaranteed moneys worth! 100% quality, couldnt get any better!

What could be better than a feed of fresh prawns and bugs on the deck of an old trawler on the Brisbane River at sunset. Not a classy restaurant but that’s the point of it - basic first class seafood seved by the cheerful crew and a sixpack of your favourite brew from the local bottlo. Great and honest Brissie experience, loved it

Looking forward to some nice seafood and a glass of wine. This place is a BYO. Oops.
First mistake. Thought as we where here we would have some oysters. Hope you like them with no options. Service is friendly but dam slow. I would say good for locals as you will know what to expect, visiting, well may need to consider
