We went to Bennys for breakfast on Saturday during Easter break. We ordered the basic, 2 bacon and egg rolls, 1 eggs on toast and a coffee and milkshake. Because it’s a busy time, we knew there will be wait time. But 1 hour wait time is just too long. Every single table was waiting for over 45 mins, even for the basic coffee. All people at different tables were continuously asking the staff to forewarn the customers that they would have to wait for an hour before the food came, but business is business and they never mentioned that to us!
Eventually when we got the food, it was bland, not much in taste and the Turkish bread was not even toasted properly! There was some verbals fights which broke out with a customer who waited for an hour for a coffee and scone and when he got it, the scone was forgotten! And the owner lady has no customer service etiquettes! She fought with the customer in front of al the other people seating inside and shouted at him asking him to leave. She mentioned that the customer had insulted one of the staff! But with that wait time, which hungry customer would be able to hold back their temper! Every table started talking with the other table and complained continuously on the wait time and average food. The table next to us had ordered avocado on toast and she got it after and hour. She turned around and asked me, do you think this takes an hour?
I think the problem is that the owner lady makes the coffee and the owner husband makes food, and rest others 2-3 people were just wait staff who bear the brunt of delays from customers!
Well, we learnt a lesson, didn’t go back again. I don’t mind waiting ever if the food is great, but that was the most disappointing bit of the whole affair!
