A Berkeley gem. I love that it's outdoors, too. There's nothing like a great show on a beautiful evening at the Greek. And Cheapskate Hill is awesome for viewing and listening to shows that you can't get into for whatever reasons. An excellent mix of performers have passed through this place and continue to do so. Some of my favorite shows have been here. And walking across the stage with my graduating class (Go Bears!) was an experience I'll never forget and always hold dear to my heart. Thanks, Greek Theater!

Just be sure to bring a blanket or jacket on cool evenings!

There is not a poor seat in the venue! For the concerts we attended it was General Admission and seating was open. Plan on arriving a little early and bring a cushion to sit on. It is a Greek Style outdoor theater and the acoustics are excellent. There is beer and wine available as well as non-alcoholic options. A quaint venue that is both appealing and attractive.

We recently enjoyed watching and listening to Bonnie Raitt in concert there. It was our very first visit there. We were really impressed with the theater. Quite frankly, we only learned not too long ago that it was an outdoor amphitheater. We had reserved seats some time ago, and we were glad we did that. The seats are really chairs, but are far superior to the concrete rows and benches.

It was a perfect evening for the concert: fall temperatures and clear skies. The only negative was outside the venue. Make sure you arrive really early before such a concert event to ensure you can find a desirable parking space. On our day, the public parking areas were "reserved" for some event. We had even arrived about an hour and half before the 8 PM starting time. We ended up parking about three blocks away and it wasn't a bad walk to and from. It's quite safe around the area on this night. Hey, it's a college town, big though it is.

Anyway, the music was great, the crowd vibe was positive, etc. Even the concessions were not bad. I had the falafel...of course, it is Greek!!

We saw a concert here last night. The acoustics were good for out doors. All seats are close enough you don't need the extra video screens. Be prepared for a steep climb if you are sitting on the stone benches or lawn. I recommend you bring cushions or a seat that has no legs. We had these stadium seats with a back that were great. You could also sit in folding seats closer to the stage, but you'd need cushions for those too. Also no matter whether you park in the garage or on the street, there is a bit of a walk. We found parking on Hearst street so saved $20. That's the cost of parking in a lot. I'd recommend this venue if you are relatively in good shape physically.

yet another reason to love Cal and the Bay Area...stunning views and architecture; performances range from orchestral to rock; good luck getting a coveted throne seat; GA events can mean you sit on very steep lawn...wear appropriate shoes, bring blanket and seat pad for lawn or concrete ampitheater seats
