My wife and I stayed for a long weekend getaway. Stayed in an upstairs unit and had stunning view of the Bay and wetlands. Very professional, courteous staff all around - from front desk to housekeeping & grounds crew. Lodge is beautifully maintained and on site dining is delicious. Highlight was using the Lodge’s cruiser bicycles to explore Doran beach area. Area is also a great jumping off point for travel up the coast to numerous State beaches, the Russian River, and Fort Ross.

This place might be a little pricey but it’s well worth the money. We stayed in Room 508 and it was very quiet.

The huge tub was great for soaking with the free bath salts. The fireplace had a small Presto Log but still was nice.

Most all the rooms have a view of the ocean and a small deck where you can sit to watch the sunset

From this location you can walk down to the Doran State Park Beach Area.

I will definitely be back again on my next visit.

Dear cjkrimm,

We are glad you had the opportunity to stay in one of our special signature rooms, "The Crow's Nest". We love it's location at the far North end of the property overlooking the property and grounds with views of the Bodega Bay and the Pacific Ocean beyond.

Warm regards,

Spent one night at the Bodega Bay Lodge. It is a nice lodge in a beautiful setting, very serene. The room was nice and clean. Perhaps it was because of the friendliness of the staff at the hotels we stayed at prior to driving up to Bodega Bay, but we did not feel the same kind of welcome at this place. It felt like the staff at the front desk were just doing their job and not interested in making their guests feel welcomed. Even when we encountered other staff walking around the premises, none of them greeted us, which was so different from the other hotels we stayed at, where their personnel, no matter their position, always smiled and said hello.

Another thing is there is no bell desk, so you have to take your luggage to your room yourself, which is not really a problem unless your room is on the second floor. Also, there are four rooms to a lodge building and while there is parking in front of each building, it is only 3 stalls with one being a handicap stall. While it's not a big deal because there are additional stalls away from the buildings, it was an issue for us as it was pouring rain when we got there and the three stalls in front of our building were taken so we got soaking wet getting our luggage from the car to the room. Perhaps the Lodge could turn one stall into a loading zone instead of a parking space.

We had breakfast at the Drake Restaurant on the premises and the food was excellent and the staff there was friendly and welcoming.

Dear izsmom,

Personalized service at the Bodega Bay Lodge is our primary goal and we are gratified when our guests take the opportunity to help us improve.

I am sorry to hear that we failed to make you feel welcomed during your recent stay with us, as this is definitely not our norm. In addition we do have bell assistance and this should have been offered to you upon check-in. Another failure on our part, as the standard is to offer this at both check-in and check-out to every guest.

It's good to hear that the Drakes food and staff were commendable.

We trust that you will understand that your recent stay was not indicative of our normal standards of service, as we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Warm regards,

Mark Stohlman
