We were looking for a place in Calistoga where we could watch the OSU-PSU football game last week. Johnny's was perfect. They set us up in a corner with our own tv and we just ate and drank for hours!! All the food was great...we had sliders, wings, cobb salad, beer and wine.

We ate in the bar side, at one of the tables. Service was good and you could order from the bar menu as well as the full restaurant menu. My husband selected the wagyu burger with applewood smoked bacon, with fries. It had heirloom tomatoes and lettuce on the side and was very good. I selected an entree from the full menu, Jaegerschnitzel. I thought the dish, which came with spaetzles and mushrooms was a little greasy. The schnitzel was tender but was under seasoned as it didn’t have much flavor. Next time I’d try another item from the bar menu. Prices are reasonable. Full bar available.

After a long day of travel, we stopped at Johnny's to watch a hockey game, have a bite to eat and some cocktails. We were not disappointed! Our server was awesome and we left with smiles on our faces. The atmosphere is very easy and comfortable. I would definitely recommend.

Johnny's Restaurant & Bar is located within the Mount View Inn & Spa which we found to be a wonderful place to stay here in Calistoga (see review), so it was only natural that we would ease into the bar after our first day in St. Helena visiting V. Sattui Winery. Of course, we were now looking for ice cold Coors Light to quench our thirst and at $4.00 a bottle for Happy Hour they were reasonably priced compared to their $7.00 everyday price. Johnny's turned out to be a very relaxing spot to watch some football as we relaxed after a day of sightseeing.

We ended up coming back to Johnny's often during our stay for both dinner and for each morning for breakfast. It was hard not to come back for breakfast after the Mount View Inn gave us $20.00 breakfast vouchers for both mornings of our stay there. With the vouchers, the breakfast fare was quite good and only ran us $23.00 with tip the first morning, and $12.00 our next day.

When we ate dinner at Johnny's we had only a light appetite so we shared pork sliders, wings, a Cobb salad and fires. I didn't think much of the sliders but everything else was good. Total for the food & drinks came to $54.95.

We loved the Mount View Inn and highly recommend staying there if you visit Calistoga or the greater Napa valley, and definitely give Johnny's a try while in town.
