Johnny's Restaurant & Bar is located within the Mount View Inn & Spa which we found to be a wonderful place to stay here in Calistoga (see review), so it was only natural that we would ease into the bar after our first day in St. Helena visiting V. Sattui Winery. Of course, we were now looking for ice cold Coors Light to quench our thirst and at $4.00 a bottle for Happy Hour they were reasonably priced compared to their $7.00 everyday price. Johnny's turned out to be a very relaxing spot to watch some football as we relaxed after a day of sightseeing.
We ended up coming back to Johnny's often during our stay for both dinner and for each morning for breakfast. It was hard not to come back for breakfast after the Mount View Inn gave us $20.00 breakfast vouchers for both mornings of our stay there. With the vouchers, the breakfast fare was quite good and only ran us $23.00 with tip the first morning, and $12.00 our next day.
When we ate dinner at Johnny's we had only a light appetite so we shared pork sliders, wings, a Cobb salad and fires. I didn't think much of the sliders but everything else was good. Total for the food & drinks came to $54.95.
We loved the Mount View Inn and highly recommend staying there if you visit Calistoga or the greater Napa valley, and definitely give Johnny's a try while in town.
