Enjoyed our one night stay at Carmel River Inn. We were upgraded to one of their newly remodeled cabins...so comfy! It was really cold out and the fireplace kept us warm and cozy. I would give 5 stars, but grounds were under construction, probably due to past storm. Overall enjoyed our stay! Will stay again!

We wanted someplace romantic for our 30th Anniversary — not too far from Point Lobos, which we wanted to experience in winter (when the crowds thin out) and not too far from downtown Carmel with its shops, galleries and eateries. We’re really happy with our choice to spend two nights at Carmel River Inn. The hosts (noting the occasion of our visit) graciously put us up in one of their newly remodeled cottages, with a brand-new deluxe bathroom, gigantic comfy bed (California King!) and small private patio looking out on the garden. We loved the cozy fireplace especially.

We’ll definitely return to this friendly and charming establishment!

I was so pleasantly surprised at this little gem at the edge of Carmel. Right across from The Crossroads, the convenience of this location cannot be beat -- supermarket, bakery, restaurants, shops, right across the street. The renovated cottages are delightful. Michael and Stacy were at the front desk during my stay and they were both extremely courteous and attentive. I am going back this weekend and will consider it for all my future stays in this area. I highly recommend this hotel!

Room tip: Pick one of the cottages on the property ~

My husband and I brought our pup to stay in the cottages for a weekend getaway. The staff was so friendly and very accommodating! Our cottage had a fireplace and kitchen, a little front yard and plenty of trails for us and our dog to explore! It was so cozy and quiet yet close enough to visit Carmel by the sea during the day. We loved our stay and can’t wait to stay again!! A real hidden gem!!
