The location was perfect, walking distance to all shops and restaurants. It is a very quaint Inn. We had a room with a fireplace. Check-in staff was lovely and helpful. Our room did not get cleaned in the two days we were there. The bathroom is tiny, like on a cruise ship. The vanity was odd with a window in the middle of the mirror. The room was large and there should have been a King bed instead of a queen. There are no plugs next to the bed. Walls were so thin we could hear the people talking in the next room. Mattress was very comfortable.

Location is great, room very nice, bathroom excellent, bed very comfortable. Not super soundproof so easy to hear voices in neighboring room. Certainly not bad enough to dissuade staying here.

Very helpful and welcoming staff. On Main Street at the foot of shopping district and a couple blocks from the beach.

Again, great location and very nice place.

Room tip: Upstairs room away from street may be preferable

Nice charming place, with nice rooms. A little pricy but my biggest problem is the thin walls. You can here everything that goes on next door. Ok for sound sleepers, but not for me. Try the cypress in for the same money and real walls

Stayed a Friday and Saturday in November. The best time of year to be in Carmel! The Hotel was nice we had a nice room. It was in the "basement" so to speak, but it was nice and cute. There was an extra sink and mirror in the kitchen area. The shower was small, but big enough. We paid for the least expensive room so I wasn't expecting anything to be big. The ground and the pool area were very cute and fun to walk around. Due to Covid there was no maid service, but for two nights that wasn't a big deal. The internet was slow, but since we were below ground I guess what do you expect? There were windows so it wasn't like it was a dark room. I used the sitting area when I needed extra speed.

A little to close for comfort.

Location: The inn is located on the Ocean avenue which is the Main Street in Carmel. The grounds are well kept and full of flowers.

Parking: They have limited parking, otherwise there is street parking. If you chose to park in their parking be careful which spot you pick as we had trash dumped on our car from housekeeping dumping trash over the rails.

Rooms: We booked directly on the Normandy Inn website and chose the Deluxe Fireplace Room. Unfortunately the description did not disclose this was directly adjacent to the street so the busy street with all the foot traffic and cars was less than a foot away. (See picture). There was also no mention of the room being a bottom floor unit so there was significant noise from the rooms above. Breakfast is no longer included as we were informed they had lost their license.

The staff was very friendly, but if you are looking for a quite environment this may not be your best option unless you call them directly to ensure what type of room you’re booking.

Room tip: Limited parking. Ground floor room is very noisy. Make sure to call to get an top floor room.
