This was visually a lovely building. The employees were helpful. They were busy in a steady stream of people.

The Visitor Center on Orange is not just a place to get information from a person, but it offers you the opportunity to visit a very nice museum on the Del and other aspects of this part of the Point. They have plenty of information and a nice assortment of local gifts that will remind you of your experience.

We took the Ferry for $9.50 and walked 3 miles around the Island. Spent the evening @ El Coronado Hotel. Great drinks and food. The beach is very nice.

You can learn a lot about the island, and surrounding area by going through the center here. There are photos and displays galore telling you all about the early days of San Diego and it's quite interesting how the land was aquired, and the hotel was financed and built.

Went into to get a map and came out with a zoo ticket and saved $10 bucks! They also have a museum of the island you can visit with a local docent giving the tours. Very personal and unique!
