We went out with friends and the breakfast quesadilla was a hit! Besides eggs, it has a healthy layer of spinach in it. A side of freshly-made salsa comes with the generous serving. It was medium spiced. The coffee was too strong but with cream, it was acceptable. If you want bistro drinks you have to order and pay at the kiosk at the entryway.

Great location just a short distance from Torrey Pines Reserve. My friend and I popped in after a morning hike. Decent breakfast. I had the Del Mar Scramble. The baby kale was light and didnt over power the eggs. However, the goat cheese took over even though there wasn't a lot of it. The potatoes were nicely crisp and not greasy at all.
My friend had the Fried Chicken in a bisket. Again, not greasy and cooked just right.

Had a wonderful breakfast burrito with the freshest ingredients, it was yummy. Had a latte whipped up at the coffee bar, which was also delightful.

Didn't realize the cafe didn't open until 9:00, which was a tad late for us!

I had a great time at Zel's last night. I wasn't starving so had the ceviche with a side of bourbon bacon Brussel sprouts. Both were amazing! They have a great wine list but thought it was on the pricey side. Would definitely recommend!

We discovered "Zel's Del Mar Cafe" because we were able to park nearby. The area is pretty busy as it is very close to the beach. We were seated and served very quickly. Having 3 kids with us, the service was excellent. Better yet the food was too.
Three of us ordered the
Mediterranean Veggie Wrap at $12.95 each. It included:
Quinoa Black Bean Falafel + Cucumber + Roasted Bell Pepper
Tomato + Kefir Cheese + Pesto + Roasted Garlic Tahini Sauce + Whole Wheat Wrap.
Truly delicious and included a choice of fries or said on the side.
Their 2 eggs any style was plentiful and enjoyed.
We read a little about the history of Zel, the person who first opened the restaurant. It was posted on the wall. An amazing man!
You will enjoy this place and choose to sit out on the patio if you wish. We stayed inside in the AC as it was pretty hot out the day we visited.
