Stayed at the Hyatt Place for 2 nights during a busy conference in San Francisco. Rooms in the city where scarngly expensive - up to $2,000 per night for standard rooms. The Hyatt was also expensive - about $400 per night compared to a regular rate of less than $200, but 'cheap' compared to the inventory in the city.

Pros:
1.Very friendly staff. Copmliments to Pinky, the front desk manager who is not only pleasant but also efficient and helpful.
2. Nice facility overall, clean and modern.
3. Rooms are spacious and bright. The bed was very comfortable.
4. Good noise insulation.

Cons:
1. Away from the city mean you need to cross the bridge which takes 45-60 minutes with traffic. If you're not driiving during rush hour times, it's a breeze.
2. On a railroad track so do your best to get a room facing the other side.
3. Laundry services do not follow instructions.

Overall, definitely recommended!

Room Tip: Get a room facing the bay-bridge

Room: King Suite - king bed with sofa bed
shade and black out curtains
wine type refrigerator
5th floor, corner unit - views of bay!

Location: Located just east of the Bay Bridge (80), so driving into ($4.00 toll) the City was so pretty as well as driving back to the hotel

Staff: The General Manager "Pinky" was very cordial and returned all calls promptly. Check-in was quick even though it was at 11:30p in the evening. Everything about our stay was great: large room, 2 doors, motion censored bathroom light, desk, sofa bed.
We met Jesse the next morning during breakfast and he offered to bring us a tray from the kitchen as we weren't sure whether to eat in the dining area or in our room. Lastly we met Angel in the elevator and asked him about places to explore outdoors in SF.

Cute shops across the street: Express, Vans, VS, Athletica

Room Tip: If traveling with a family or group, be sure to book the suite.

I stayed for just one night when this property first opened, but I returned a few months later for a longer stay and all of the minor kinks seem to have been ironed out and this is really by far the best East Bay hotel option that's currently available. By quite a margin. However, it is also generally the most expensive. You will be paying SF rates, so if you don't want the commute - not at all easy - then consider SF. If however you want to be out of the city and in the up and coming Emeryville area, you won't find anything better.

This is a brand new, purpose built property with great finishes & services. The lobby is modern, comfortable and welcoming and there's outside seating in the sunshine too. The staff are friendly and helpful and there's ample parking (which is charged at quite a high daily rate). The lobby has a bar and restaurant and in most stays, breakfast is included in the rate. The breakfast buffet is really excellent. Very good quality food and plenty of options to suit all diets and tastes. This alone is a great selling point.

I had issues with noise from the ever present railway tracks when I first stayed here, but the building is now totally soundproofed and really won't hear a thing, which is remarkable in itself. The rooms are very spacious and very comfortable, with seating and work areas separate to the sleeping. The one huge flaw in the design is that the power in the rooms is on a motion sensor. It's actually ludicrous. If you are watching TV or not moving much as you work at the desk, the power switches off. It happens very, very frequently. This is the one huge flaw the hotel needs to rectify. Motion sensored power is ridiculous. WIFI is free & strong throughout the hotel & there are international TV channels (but I wish they'd add BBC World News).

All the furnishings are brand new and thus in excellent condition and this extends into the modern bathroom. A shaving or make up mirror is a much needed add they should make and the shower water pressure is pretty weak, but otherwise, it's all modern, clean and useful.

The housekeeper needs to be a bit less intrusive. Twice she knocked on the door (despite my do not disturb notice) and before I could even answer or get to the door, she'd let herself in. Once is forgivable, but twice? Someone should have a quiet word. Again, a minor quibble.

The rates are high, but that's reflected in the quality. You get what you pay for without doubt. Plus you're right on Bay Street and there are plenty of eating and shopping options around. I'm liking the Hyatt Place brand very much.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the busy railway track are excellently sound proofed

We visit for a few days San Francisco and this hotel was a good and comfortable solution. By car or by public transport you reach the city in few minutes. By car you have to cross the bridge of the bay and pay a 5 USD toll (only one way toll).
The hotel is modern, very comfortable and has its own parking or one in the front with lot of space both with charge.
The breakfast is self service. The concurrency of guests causes queues to access the service that are a little annoying. The surroundings are nice and there is a shopping street a few steps away.

Finding a hotel in the north east bay was stressing me out. I did a lot of searching and comparing, and this is one of the top three places to stay in. It was certainly a little pricier but I felt our stay here was pretty fair.

You're lucky if you find parking right at the hotel's tiny lot, or you'll have to park in the garage next to the hotel. Check in at the lobby was quick. I was pleasantly surprised how clean and spacious the room was. Definitely great for business travel. You have your own safe in the closet. Bed was comfortable with clean white sheets. Nice size flat screen tv. Shower pressure was a bit on the weak side though. And the complimentary breakfast was really decent with a nice variety.

Overall it was a good stay. I still felt safe and was comfortable.
