Description: This used to be the Beach Grass Cafe, but changed it's name to Swami's Cafe (there is also a Swami's Cafe in Encinitas, but it is off the Coast Hwy). The only TA listing for Swami's in Encinitas is the one off the Coast Hwy. Can we add this one?

We go to Swami's in Encinitas for breakfast often. The food is dependable -- and often excellent. When the chef comes up with a special, like corned beef hash or a Mexican burrito, get it! This guy is good! They have Gevalia coffee and also specialty coffees like lattes, Mexican hot chocolate, etc. which I appreciate. I don't like to go to places with tasteless coffee. The staff is very pleasant too. Altogether, a great local place that I would recommend to anyone!

This is a great breakfast or lunch place with plenty of choices for the group. Whether you want a simple classic breakfast or a healthy Acai bowl, they offer good food and service.

Came here for breakfast with some friends a few days before flying home to Florida. Serve yourself coffee in multiple flavors and strengths is very nice since you don't have to wait for a server. They also have a full bar which means you can order a Bloody Mary any day of the week, YAY! Food is excellent and I recommend any of their omelettes or the machaca. Everyone was fully satisfied and happy with their food and service so I am sure this might become a regular place for breakfast when we travel to the area twice a year.

Its on the highway so that is not the best view. But the food is good and the experience is casual and fun with lots of locals. A favorite spot for surfers since back into the 70's it has a unique appeal of casual dinning al fresco and quirky ways. You need to look at the menu first, order and pay at counter. Someone will bring your food to the table. Finding a seat during the busy times can be a challenge but with patience you'll get one soon if not right away. They service lunch and breakfast. Prices are average with quality ingredients. . I make it a pilgrimage when in the area. Why you ask "because its Swamis"

The level of unprofessionalism at this establishment is the worst I have ever encountered. Our breakfast took over an hour (since ordering) to even come out of the kitchen. Only after we had put pressure on the waitress to answer where our food was. Marissa Mahoney was absolutely disrespectful and disgraceful as a waitress. After another server noticed that we were waiting a long time she offered to pack our food to go. Marissa came running out with a bill expecting us to pay for food that overall took an hour and 20 minutes to make. She lied about the time we had arrived after realizing she had forgotten to place our order. After we were packed our food we asked to speak to the manager who she refused to get for us. As we were getting ready to leave she came running out of the restaurant screaming at me and my girlfriend calling us crazy and proceeded to lie to the manager again after we asked to speak to the manager a second time. It is safe to say we will never eat there again, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND MARISSA MAHONEY!
