Why we won’t be returning to Autoclub Speedway ever again.

Gillian, past president of the Speedway, listened to the concerns of the fans and responded immediately to any constructive criticism or complaints. Dave, the new president for the last 3 years, does not.

Every year that he has been president there has been been a noticeable decline in how the track is managed. Less venders, awful entertainment, poor customer service, staff that have obviously not been trained in the basics. Ask anyone a question and the answer will ALWAYS be “Ummmm, I not sure.” Without fail.

I’m pretty sure they didn’t sell out this year as they have in the past.

The fan zone entertainment has helped to overcome the boring races but this year there really wasn’t anything to do. The races were boring, the fan zone was boring. There were only a few driver’s merchandise trailers. So much less to do and so much less to look at:-(

The Monster Energy race began with 3 paratroopers (?) parachuting in with the flag but the announcers totally missed the event while they played taped interviews:-(

One of the vendors was giving away cigars but no one was policing the people smoking them deep in crowds of children.

The food was selection was dismal.

The band, Paradise City, really should have auditioned for the venue as they were awful.

The Dockdogs would have been entertaining had there been more dogs.

We didn’t even know the motocross was going on.

The garage tour was beyond a waste of time. Couldn’t hear anything that was said and they no longer allow you to try to get autographs for even wave to drivers.

It was just a sad and disappointing 3 days.

I think we’re going to make Phoenix our home track from now on. It’s only a few more miles and they seem to care a lot more about their fans experiences.

I was very disappointed with this event. My husband waited in line for 1 1/2 hours at 8 PM Saturday night before we got to any lights. Once you are in line there is no way to get out; no restrooms and no other facilities such as food, etc. The overall presentation was pretty lame. There were a few elements that we enjoyed (such as the 12 days of Christmas) and the light tunnel at the end, but overall I would skip it. I can't imagine waiting in that line with a bunch of little kids in the car. You can buy a VIP pass and avoid the line. If you are going to go, I would recommend spending the extra money.

Purchased the ride-along 2 lap version through a third-party. We were originally booked for the drifting experience in a Corvette. Ended up in a lime green Lamborghini Huracan instead. It was an exciting ride!! The place is well run and the staff were friendly including our driver. I would suggest just showing up and picking the car you prefer and choosing whether you want to drive or ride along since the cars that are available do change. It was a hot day, but the tent and industrial fans worked well to keep us cool. Also, since the Huracan is a street car, it had air conditioning on this 104F day :). There is a camera in the car that captures your experience and can be purchased for about $80. This was a very memorable experience and would go back again!!
