We included Starlite in our 7-day trip on a whim. This was the only of the 12 wineries we visited that everyone in our party loved everything we tried. We sampled two Zins (2006 & 2007), two Viogniers, and Cabernet Sauvignon. We are true believers in Zin now. Very refined and yet not "wimpy". The Viognier is the perfect summer wine. Not too oaky, not too citrus. Beautiful balance. Thank you for a wonderful experience and fantastic wines!

Having visited twenty-one wineries on our recent trip to Sonoma we've tasted a variety of wines made in a variety of styles. We found very few wines that were average - most were well above average and a few were absolute gems. Starlite Vineyards gets the "gem" rating. All three of the wines we tasted there, Zinfandel, Cabernet and Viognier were delightful. I'll limit this review to their Zinfandel. The Starlite Zinfandel was done in what I would describe as a refined style, more like a claret than the typical big, "in your face" Zins, that many of us consider to be typical Zinfandels. This Zinfandel is an elegant rendition of the best of the Zinfandel grape - rich flavor, nuanced fruit without being fruity and a just enough acidity to create a really memorable texture and finish. All of the wines we tasted were paired with delightful morsels of food that helped illuminate the nuanced qualities of the wines. Their tasting room is hung with original works of art which may later appear on their bottle labels. The grounds are beautiful, with a sculpture of a curvaceous nude who is "one with the earth".

Yes, we joined their club and anxiously await arrival of the first shipment. We purchased a bottle of the Zinfandel for our last night in Sonoma. What a great way to finish our wine counrty vacation.
