Sandpiper has beautiful vistas, but I feel it is over rated in price and course conditions. Independent from the rains, the course needs a significant amount of care to bring the fairways, bunkers and greens up to a quality that matches the views and price point. Pace of play was very long with walkers and cart players bunched very close together. With so many golf options, we will pass on a repeat game.

Lovely setting for a golf course. Several holes run along the ocean bluffs. A challenging course because of the huge greens - easy to three putt or come up short by a club. Be sure to check the pin placement and then the yardage. Not a lot of markers on the sprinklers. Greens can be fast - depends on when they were last punched.
A small clubhouse, very pleasant staff, and a great view to have a bite and a drink after your round. Twilight rates offer the best value.

I'm writing this on behalf of my husband, who played Sandpiper with our grandson on December 23rd. It was rainy and there were very few players on the course.

The pro shop attendant was barely accommodating and when asked if they could pay the afternoon rate a little before noon (due to the wet conditions), he said absolutely not. They paid the $190 per person and proceeded to play.

The course is beautiful and the views were great, however, the course was in terrible condition. It just was not worth paying $190 for a round of golf.

This opinion is coming from one longtime golfer and a player who played 4 years of college golf on a scholarship. Both have played in almost every US state and Canada.

This place is great! So many ocean holes. It's kind of a Torrey Pines style course, but more ocean. For women, I think it's pretty dang hard (5600 distance I think), and you aren't getting much advantage on most tee boxes. I hit 1 iron the whole day. ONE.

Price: I think they either need to make it $140 and it's a steal. OR make it $210, but step up their amenities game. Get some water bottles for carts and the electronic navigation screens, tees with name and logo, whatever. Then you are not complaining about the cost because it feels like a luxury coarse and you're only paying $20 more. Just a thought.

And to those who complained about 18 being a par 3, I thought it was awesome!

The grill/restaurant had really good food and drinks. Little pricey but good.

A must play if in the area for sure!

I didn't feel there was anything special about this course. It wasn't in good condition, although the greens were. It could be due to it being in June? Off season? I am not sure.
