While there is not on-site management, the manager is available by phone, concerned and highly responsive to tenant difficulties. Entry issues were a problem on our arrival, so Andrea, answering immediately, sent her husband Scott, who was able to overcome the problems and promptly get us into our quarters, the Hibiscus. The delay was assuaged by an offer of cash compensation, which my wife and I deeply appreciated.

Hibiscus is spotlessly clean; furnishings are modest but functional and we thoroughly enjoyed our week here. Rooms (bedroom, bath and kitchen-dining-living area are adequate, though not large but we never felt cramped and on Maui, how much time are you going to spend inside anyway with so much beauty outside on every hand !

Location is close to Kahului (main airport, code OGG), maybe 10 minute drive. Maui offers Costco, Walmart, Barnes & Noble and a great variety of other stores for your every need. We love and recommend Maui Coffee Roasters if you're coffee lovers - Hibiscus has a great Cuisinart coffeemaker. Good coffee is not cheap here but Hawaii's varieties are among the best in the world - you will agree, guaranteed !
Dining on Maui is not only unbelievably tasty, but a marvelous experience as well. We have our favorites but you will find your own and guidebooks will show you the way to your particular food interests.

Our Maui visits (usually a week to a month) have covered nearly 30 years now - we splurged and brought all 5 of our children (spouses included) over for the Millenium - what a treat ! In general, we've found Maui merchants of all types to be honest, exceptionally friendly and eager to please their mainland guests. ALOHA means both Hello and Goodbye.
MAHALO means Thank You. Use both of these words with your Mauian hosts and you'll be enjoying an unforgettable experience.

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the HIBISCUS suite, one of 4 offerings

Stayed in the Hibiscus suite of Spreck’s Plantation House near Kahului, Maui. Clean, quiet with all the amenities you need (kitchen, laundry, etc). They have extras for their guests including beach towels, beach chairs, bike, kite pump, even shampoo/sunscreen left behind from other travelers. Best part it’s a short drive to Kanaha Beach Park or “Kite Beach”. Good prices for those on a budget.

We loved Mango suite:-) Spent 14 days here as a second part of honeymoon. Since we are very active, Maui is a perfect place to be. Mango suite suited us perfect since we made many meals at home (great kitchen) and went windsurfing in Kahana (short drive) Good WIFI and bikes to loan - both free of charge. Short bicycle ride to Paia with restaurants. Good parkingspace. Nice lania with shower and BBQ. Will return:-)

Spent about two weeks in the Hibiscus suite last summer with my girlfriend. We've been to Maui a couple of times before, but were tired of the hotels and the hostels. The Sprecks Plantation House was recommended to me by my cousin and we decided to try it out - which turned out to be a great idea.

The Sprecks Plantation House is located in a peaceful neighbourhood close to the beach and to Paia. The Hibiscus suite had everything we could need. The private BBQ area was really nice, being able to something on the grill after a hard day at the beach. The house was clean and well looked after.

Would love to go back!

If you want the usual stay in the usual box hotels...I found something unique , took awhile but up the Sprecks Plantation House. I liked having nice bike to ride, laundry, baskets full of toys(for kids) , snorkeling masks, all at no added costs.
quiet neighborhood, good location a place you can get away from the hype.
Easy bike ride or car ride(5 min.) within the hood to the beach.. one called Baby Beach. Saw several turtles, guess they like the baby beach as well. there is a divider between ocean.. and more like a larger wading area and swimmer friendly.
It can be very breezy in this area..so have a hat that stays on.
I enjoyed the Mango! After the first night I got a comfortable cool room..using air conditioning and ceiling fan(low).
The kitchen stocked very nicely.. everything worked fine and frig quiet. Towels provided and hair dryer.
Bring your own soaps/shampoo.
You take care of the place yourself..I liked no one was coming into my unit ..like a hotel set up..again if you like room service this is not for you.
Not a hotel but more like a rental unit.
Mango was on far end of building so people parking didn't bother us like other end room..only 4 rentals.

Room Tip: I liked the Mango room..on the end and not near parking.
