We traveled for an hour to host this birthday lunch for a dear friend. This rainy midday, did curtail those dining here. We had reservations and were seated immediately upon entry with window seats. Had it not been drizzling we would have selected the enclosed back patio with heat lamps.
Our two guests had coffee cups filled with mushroom soup that they reported as delicious. ( Could they buy some cheap white cup/bowls? ) Our orders were a prime rib sandwich, a prawns on green salad and two seafood risotto's . The prime rib sandwich was delicious and enormous. The prawn salad was wonderful. The two men cleaned the bowls such as they really needed little cleaning. Wonderfully full of sea food
The ladies drinks were --one had Prosecco while the other had a Bloody Mary. The prosecco looked so pale that we first thought it was 7-up. The Bloody Mary had no celery ---or olives or anything in it...but vodka and some red juice with some shake of spice. Not good at all.
The deserts were a persimmon bread pudding with whipped cream that was large but mediocre while the key lime pie well executed. It was sharp in taste and bright of color. A large wedge with a burning candle as they knew it was the ladies birthday. A 20% tip at least was in order.
We will return but not order the Bloody Mary with out explaining exactly how it is to be made. Gracious service, super clean bathroom, quiet place to enjoy great friends on a damp over cast day.
