The place is like nothing I've seen before (ok, I live in the middle east). The views are breathtaking and the walking trail is easy and nice.
We met a guy who was one of the trail builders, he said they started it in the 60s-70s and he is still maintaining it.

We spent two days cycling around the park and it was fabulous. Altja was a real highlight, seeing the massive stones - so random! Also Vosu beach and the beautiful Palmse Manor (where we stayed in the converted distillery which is their hotel). We saw many people foraging for mushrooms, which is an interesting tradition, plus the Vihasoo observation tower is handy for the bird watchers amongst you. Midges are a bit troublesome unless it's windy, so be prepared. It's a beautiful and peaceful place, we had a wonderful time discovering the forest trails and traditional villages, along side the historical manor houses and fabulous wild beach scenery. Highly recommend a trip!

This is a huge national park that contains small towns, numerous war memorials/sites museums, wildlife and plenty of sea shore. Plan on spending plenty of time here to do justice to see all the various sites. We spent one day and used Google Maps to guide us and drove from Tallin all around the outline of the park. Could easily have spent more time there to enjoy and explore.

This was an unexpected gem only 90 minutes from Estonia's capital city. With plenty of places to stay, appealing to all budgets and tastes, it's perfect for hiking, history and relaxation. The national park has quaint villages, coast lines and trails to follow. You can even climb to the top of Estonia's third biggest stone, see an old submarine base and visit an abandoned Soviet village. Such an interesting place. Accessible by bus from the city centre it's super easy to get to.

A 9 hour long journey at a comfortable pace , giving us an insight into the Estonian history and the marvels of nature in the country. The walk through the swamplands was both informative and enjoyable . The vantage point in the bog gives a marvelous view of the marshlands.

The manor houses in the national park are well preserved. We learnt about the life of the Estonian people that was interesting to even our 4 year old.
