I was looking for something cheap, close to the beach, so I was happy to find Serendipity Beach Hostel for 4 usd. Dorm was with fun and mosquito net. Common area is nice but quite small, and there could be a few more bathroom and toilet.
The lockers (you have to have your own padlock) were by the reception, not in the dorm.
Staff did not really pay attention on who is walking in and out, so as far as security, it does not meet high standards.

I just stayed here one night but I have to say the room was really quite nice. Modern, comfortable beds, nice bathroom and a balcony. The location is also great, very close to Serendipity beach. Down side is that they don't have a restaurant or bar, luckily there are plenty near by. Also there was a tremendous amount of noise from construction (not their fault) during my stay so it was hard to enjoy the pool. You may want to check to see if that is still going on if noise is a problem for you. I'm sure they don't like it either! If you want to be out and about a lot then it is a perfect place to stay.

Coming from Phnom Penh we booked this hotel just for one night since the place we wanted was fully occupied for another day.

This hotel turned out to be better than expected.

Our room (poolview) was very very clean and very well equipped.
It was great with a room just by the edge of the big swimmingpool.

We did not have much to do with the staff - only reception staff and they were ok to us. No problems at all.

WiFi was free but we were still using our own Cambodian SIM-card for Internet (very cheap for 5-6 Gb 30 days).

Hotel location is good, not great,- but still ok if you are looking for nightlife along the beach-bars and resturants. Also the ferry-pier for the Islands is very near.

We had an inclusive and average breakfast in a restaurant adjacent to the hotel.

The price we paid was very reasonable for all it included.

We would not mind to stay here again.

Room tip: Pay for a room by the swimmingpool.

The hotel is situated thirty meters from the beach and the pier The large second floor balcony at the front of the hotel allows brilliant views of the bay, pier, and the activities along the road out front There are lots of restaurants both right on the beach front and close to the hotel. The rooms are large, very clean and functional .WIFI works well ,hot showers, room service is of a high standard ,TV has plenty of channels to choose from but ours ( room 215)had poor reception and needed to be retuned .Breakfast was plentiful and varied.Saw one guest walk in for breakfast ,check out the food then went to a restaurant across the road. Cant please everybody !! A well situated ,clean and comfortable hotel, would have no hesitation staying here again.Sihanoukville ,I noticed by one reviewer ,was classed as unsafe ! It is just like MANY other place on the planet ....just be careful ,don't disrespect the local people and their customs ,and use your brains ...!!!
Can anybody explain why backpackers have to put their dirty feet all over the chairs and tables and couches in the coffee shops ?

Room tip: Pool view room is quietest
