Hotel is under (slow) renovation and/or falling apart?? it is a complete mess. Things breaking all the time; mosquito curtain had holes, fans didn't work, shower head broke, no info provided. The dirt road leading to it is so bad that only one driver in the city can brave it, it is also filled with trash, barking dogs and angry geese. All amenities unavailable except for breakfast. Poor manager pangyao(sp) tried his best, I don't know why he was left running the place- there was no other staff but him, except a family that lived there.

The place has potential! Great private and public beach, great view, close to everything but super quiet. But as it is- way way way overpriced. And don't stay there until renovations are completed and is in full operations.

This is one of the best Bungalow resort in Sihanoukville. We are staying here for a month now and we just love the location and the staff. It has its own small beach in front of the bungalows and a walking distance to Sokha Beach Resort and it is really peaceful here even at night. No loud music playing at night until dawn and you cannot hear the loud music being played by some beach parties happening everyday. Staff are also very accommodating and friendly. They will try to help you as much as they can to make your stay comfortable. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing and peaceful stay in Sihanoukville.

The bungalows are very simple, with no A/C and sometimes no running water. The Wifi did not work in the rooms and the breakfast was prepared early in the morning and was cold by the time we would come to eat (at around 8am). The beach was very rocky and not so nice for swimming near the hotel, but a short walk, through piles of garbage, you can reach the Sokha beach, where a small spot is free for tourists not staying in the resort to lay out their beach towels. The sun beds cost a hefty $20 for people not staying at the resort!

Malibu is a lovely gem that takes you away from the madness of Serendipity beach. The best part for us was how sweet the family running it was to us when we stayed there. Chen is the manager - his mother and wife do the cooking (which was the best we had during our stay), his father drives the tuk-tuk (yes, it is a short ride to the town, but Chen's father was our personal chauffeur the entire time! He was so sweetest man - full of smiles, we loved him so much!), and he does so much for the property. They were all so nice to us during our stay. Chen's english is great, he was able to answer all of our questions easily.

The location is awesome - little bungalows about a private (small) beach. Amazing views. I would recommend getting a room with a/c if you can afford it - it makes the stay much easier. Quick walk to the beautiful Sokra beach too. We did an amazing boat tour through Sun Tours to Koh Rong that I wouldn't miss either.

Overall it was a great stay and we were sad to leave!

Chen if you are reading this, I could not find you on Facebook - please search for me with my name! Sharon :)

Room Tip: Choose one with a/c!

The spot is nice away from the mass touristic places, when we arrived everything sounded good.
We booked a beach view bungalow that finally was looking over.....another bungalow and not the sea. Only 1/2 are sea view rooms maybe 5/6 as well.
The decoration could have been nice if properly maintained... The wood is peeling everywhere such as the paint. The shower tap stayed in my hand when tried to turn it off... The mosquito nets which are vital when you don't have AC were full of holes, the mattress should have 100 years at least and part of the Khmer heritage, and we had the pleasure to hear the local music until 2am every night thanks to a disco just next door. You can imagine that the relaxation part of our stay was not there. To conclude this hotel is far overpriced it should be sold at around 15 US not 50....if you are looking for a peaceful retreat forget about Malibu...!
