We stayed two nights in a starlight casita. We were offered and upgrade, but this is my favorite room category. The rooms are still old and in need of an update, but they are very good sized.

The bathrooms are large. I think they should offer fragrance free products as an alternative to the Ferragamo perfumed bath products.

I love having a patio and fireplace. It feels very private and relaxing. I like the casitas near the lap pool...which was unfortunately closed during our stay.

I also was happy that they include a breakfast credit for Hilton honors members. That is a nice touch and can be used at their little grocery store.

Room Tip: starlight casita near the lap pool in the center of the resort.

La Quinta Resort is a beautiful resort and I would highly recommend it to those who want a peaceful sunny getaway. The ground are amazing and the live band at the outdoor bar was awesome. It is a great location and has plenty of amenities.

We had a very frustrating arrival after dark in February. The rooms and property are spread out over several acres. The up lighting on the palms, citrus trees and buildings, while beautiful at a distance, were always in our eyes, blinding us as we tried to find our way to our room in the dark. The several walking paths between the rooms and bunglows are not well marked, if marked at all.

In the morning the place looked gorgeous. The rooms and facilities are old but comfortable and spacious. The bathrooms are updated and very nice. Showers are perfect. The food served at the resort is very good. The landscaping is immaculate with palm trees, citrus bearing trees and well groomed and colorful shrubs and flower beds. Nestled up against the dramatic mountains the setting is wonderful. The Spanish Colonial architecture with the red tile roofs made us feel we were visiting the Palm Springs of the 1920s.

My Husband and I just stayed here for the BNP Paribas tennis tournament and could not have enjoyed our stay more!
The grounds are beautiful - all the flowers, plants, trees, cacti, etc. are well-maintained and we loved strolling the grounds enjoying all the sights. The architecture is very indicative of Southern California and the old Spanish missions. All areas were well-kept and pristine.
We stayed in a casita near the back of the property and it was wonderful. Our room was large and comfortable. Everything was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed seeing hummingbirds and cactus gardens on our short walk every morning to go to breakfast.
We also dined in a couple of the restaurants and spent time exploring all the little shops, the spa area, and the tennis courts. Everyone seemed very nice and friendly and I would definitely return in the future. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this resort!

Room Tip: rooms on the backside (900s) were very quiet

This is a wonderful location but the property is very, very old and run down. The service was good and the food was okay. The flies in the conference room were unbearable and the HVAC didn't work. The room was well appointed but so old. There was mold in the shower and the bathroom was held together with paint and caulking. The La Quinta is a wonderful old historic resort property but it needs a major renovation.

Room Tip: If they have renovated rooms, get one.

Dear chawk1872,

Thank you for being our guest. I am sorry to learn of your accommodations falling short of expectation, and I will review the record of your stay to ensure that the room meets our standard of excellence and that it is not inadvertently -- and inexcusably -- overlooked in its upkeep again. On behalf of La Quinta Resort & Club, please accept my apology for the service deficiency. I am thrilled however that you enjoyed the hospitality of our fine staff. We look forward to your welcome return and what will be the complete luxury experience for which we are known.

Kindly,
