Really cute restaurant. Great atmosphere and even better food.
We had the mussels with fries, the steak tartare, the brussels sprouts and the steak, and everything was delicious. The mussels in particular were an absolut must!
The service was also fantastic. Out waitress was nice and took great care of us. Thankful to have found this restaurant on Seated.
We’ll be coming back soon.

The service was prompt and efficient with a tasty amuse-bouche. We started our evening with champagne and the small charcuterie plate and the puf pastry escargot followed by the tagliatelle and steak and a bottle of the Lacoste Borie.

Came here to celebrate with some friends. We ordered bouillabaisse, chicken breast salad, steak frites, and the three course menu that included butternut squash soup and steak frites. The baguette was delicious, the food was well presented and the service was very attentive. I would not hesitate to come back again.

Located in the former National Biscuit Company building in industrial LA, Church & State, located on Industrial Street, offers French inspired cuisine in a knock-out setting. We dined here last week during Dine LA and found it well worth the trip from our usual enclave in Santa Monica. They say you can tell something about a restaurant's cooking if you order chicken and the Coq au Vin at Church & State did not disappoint. The meat was moist and the sauce provided the perfect accent. The dish was surrounded by perfectly prepared fresh vegetables. The wine list offered notable French wines and the Picpul, the white varietal selected for Dine LA menu was not only delicious but well priced. If you expected Oreos for dessert, you wouldn't have been disappointed by their absence. The Mousse au chocolat was a worthy alternative.

We went to C&S with great anticipation. After the first appetizer, the deviled eggs, we were wowed. Amazing little concoction that was simply the best deviled egg we've ever had. Unfortunately, after that auspicious start, it was all down hill. I next had the french onion soup figuring it had to be amazing... but it was so underwhelming. In my opinion, it had no real point if view, no distinguishable flavor profile... just, under seasoned onion soup. I was surprised. My main was the cassoulet, and again I found it lacking any sort of wow factor. Bland. Mushy beans. The three meats; duck confit, lamb shoulder, and sausage were all bland and nearly indistinguishable. My wife had the mussels and there was promise there, but she too found the broth to be under seasoned. We were both so disappointed in our, and each others dishes that by the time desert was offered we politely passed figuring we had peaked at the deviled eggs.
