Checked in late at night at 11pm. Front desk was friendly and told us which Korean BBQ place nearby might still be open. Room (two queen beds) was clean, and beds were comfortable. We needed an extra towel, which was promptly delivered even at 2am. We were a group of 4 on a roadtrip, and I would recommend this place for a similar group.

It's the middle of the night and doors are slamming all around me. 2:30 am I went to complain. The young man at the front desk told me no one was staying above me and he would send security to see what's up. HE LIED TO MY FACE TO SAVE HIS. Several people were checking out in the middle of the night to meet a tour bus. Their rooms were all around mine. It was impossible to sleep!
I checked out. A day early.
When I checked out the COLD, unfriendly woman said, " You could have asked for another room." <-<-<-Yeah, because it's my fault for staying there in the first place.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here at the Garden Suites Hotel. We were aware that we were in KoreaTown and our surroundings so I have nothing to comment on only the hotel itself. There was one member of staff at the desk that was a bit helpful. The others were indifferent and underwhelming when greeting, checking in or out. The parking is free - this is a good thing in LA but the hotel just left us cold, so to speak. The wifi never worked in the room. Our first night the TV didn't work - it took 4 hours and our second call to the desk before someone came to fix the TV. In turn the TV could not be fixed and we were told to move to the room next door. No help, no assistance moving our things.
I am open minded to the peculiar but I would not stay at this hotel ever again.

Room Tip: Try another hotel close by

My wife and I stayed here for an overnight DTLA adventure. Didn't want to spend and arm and a leg so this place online fit the bill. Free secure underground parking was ultimately closed the deal. The entrance is a bit dated but still flashy enough to stand out as if it were a higher end hotel. Despite being in the heart of Koreatown the staff were all very friendly and spoke pretty good English. Once we took elevator up to room we started to notice the worn condition of the hallways. Our room was clean but small definitely not a place you would want to spend too much time in. We walked not even 2 blocks to some great bbq at Eight Korean BBQ very authentic very tasty. Later that evening we took uber rides to several different clubs downtown, none of our rides were more than $6-7, due to the proximity of the hotel. Would stay here again if only needed for a nite.

Quick check in and check out process. Convenient location, close to a lot of tourist places, guest car parking available free of charge. The hotel do not provide bell service, so be ready to bring your luggage to the room by yourself. There is available luggage trolley/cart that guests can borrow from the security guard in the lobby. We had difficulty bringing our 4 big suitcases to the room especially that the wheels of the luggage trolley/cart are not working properly. 2 bottled water were provided on the first night, but nothing after that. There is a small refrigerator at the corner which can really freeze up your bottled water (badly needed for the warm LA weather). No liquid soap, just shampoo & conditioner in really tiny bottles and small bath soap. Very few pieces of towels, acceptably clean though. TV is small and old. The room in itself is very quiet, however, i can hear the sound of the bed spring every time i move. Bed linens below average. Nothing special in the lobby decoration. There is McDonald's restaurant beside the hotel that operates its drive thru 24/7.
