French Bistro with a fine dinning ambiance. Food is outstanding and the buzz is high as tables are close together. Kitchen is very refined and the menu specials are always interesting. Raul in the front of the house is in a class by himself. Reservations are a must but you can eat at the Bar. Sports fans there is TV hanging from the ceiling. We had the Lamb chops that were perfect and the filet was fork only tender. Only negative is the buzz as it is always crowded - seating's 6:30 and 8:15 pm. But they never rush you. $25 corkage fee and they do decant your wine. Martini's are bartender specialty also. All in it is $85 to $115 per person but worth every penny. B T W pomme frites are great as a table appetizer as they also provide a lite puff pastry with your drinks.

We have eaten here several times and have found this lovely place is consistently great! One of the things I love is the ambience here, it has a intimate elegant and lovely decor and the service is great. It is indeed true that Maitre D’, Raul Arroyo graciously oversee each and every detail of your visit to ensure that you too, return to Mistral time and time again. Although they change the menu here frequently to keep it fresh and gives us new things to look forward to and so that we don't get bored, on this visit I had the pot roast...it was AMAZING! Yes, this is an elegant French bistro, there is something here for everyone. I highly recommend this restaurant!

After a second confirmation that this was a double birthday dinner, the staff and owner completely forgot the occasion. The food was excellent, the noise level incredibly high and the service at the table was good. May returning but unlikely. SO disappointed.,

Mistral is a special place in Sherman Oaks. The owner is so involved that the restaurant has the feeling of a private club. The food is first rate and the service is just as good. The wine list is outstanding with many wines that are what appears to be straight retail. The wine service and glassware is also super. the are always wine groups coming to use the restaurant as a wine tasting spot. I highly recommend this restaurant.

$50 steaks should have a lot more flavor. It wasn't bad, just nothing too exciting. I would go back if invited but wouldn't go out of my way. The steak actually seemed like a thawed out Omaha steak.
