Description: Dear Patrons, After having the pleasure of serving the Menlo Park community for nearly 6 years, it is time for LB Steak in Menlo Park to close its doors, though only for a short while, as we look to the future. While it certainly saddens us to do so, we are eager at the opportunity it presents for us to re-concept and refocus our efforts in order to bring something new and exciting to downtown Menlo Park. Please be sure to check in on us from time to time for updates with how the new restaurant is progressing. In the meantime, we are more than happy to host you at our LB Steak location on Santana Row in San Jose, or our sister restaurant Left Bank Brasserie, right down the street in Menlo Park. We truly appreciate each and every one of you, are grateful for your continued support, and look forward to seeing you soon at our new restaurant! -The LB Steak Menlo Park Team

Had a really good meal here last week. The steak was excellent, and prepared perfectly! The atmosphere was nice, and the service was excellent.

Stopped here for dinner after a long day. The only available seating was outside (although it did not look that crowded inside). It was a little chilly, but we thought we'd eat quickly and go. The waiter and bartender/host were nice enough but sadly there was only one other staff member outside of the kitchen (I believe the new Mgr). We sat forever and other tables seemed to be getting food a bit quicker. The wine selection was good - mostly reds, but appropriate for a steak dinner. We had the calamari appetizer which was fine, not award winning but not bad. The steaks when they finally came out were pretty amazing. All 4 of us had the 6 oz filet and it was cooked to perfection. We all tried different sides (cauliflower, steamed spinach, mushrooms and fries) and they were average at best. In the end, it really took way too long, and we let mgmt know. They were quite apologetic about the staffing and gave us a gift certificate to try them again. The steaks were great, so we will give them a try again. Hopefully with better results!

In general their quality is better than Leftbank (MP) with little higher price. Also their Happy Hour is killer and love their sliders. Enjoy it. BTW, drinks prices are good as well.

Went here for steak with my family. First off seated in a room with TVs playing CNN. So that's not conducive to the steakhouse or "fine dining" experience.

The service was very poor for a place like this. Women should be served first, and service from the correct side. Waiters should know who ordered what without asking. Orders were forgotten, drinks were not refilled, etc. Often left without anyone on duty. So service was inattentive and imprecise.

First course was okay, but was unclear if the wedge salad had real or fake bacon. Steaks took a bit too long to arrive after that. I had the upgraded "prime" New York, medium. It was a bit gnarly and the char was distracting. Steak didn't have much flavor even after adding a lot of salt. (The filet mignon was more flavorful.) Just wasn't that good. Also had a bake potato which looked like it might have been reheated in the microwave.

This is the third time I've been to an LB steak (others were with work) and the third time disappointed.

We tried the patio on an early March evening since we couldn't get in for almost two hours if we waited for the inside of the restaurant. The food was quite good, cooked properly. I had filet mignon (6 oz) with bernaise and a side of brussel sprouts. Caesar salad was also solid. Wines a tad expensive. Service was good, the manager did his best to make us happy. Certainly would recommend.
