Stayed here from 9/25-9/27...upoon check in the employee was half dead with no personality or customer service. I then told her it was my first wedding anniversary and do they have anything for us or can we upgrade. she said no there was nothing. I asked her what type of view we have..she said your view is " a wall"...I was like oh I don't really want to look at a wall for my anniversary is there nothing else u can do? she said no. There was like no customer service what so ever. she continued to reply with one word. For the amount I paid for the weekend I expected a whole lot more from the hotel. We get to the room and its decent, I still don't understand why the price was what it was, the room is like any hotel room at the Hilton, etc, nothing luxurious. I open the door to see my view and it is indeed a wall, along with some sewer looking thing below us that smelled SOO BAD. we couldn't even open the door during our stay, the one time we did about 10 flies came into the room because there is no screen door... they have absolutely no amenities and still charge 25 a night for self-parking hahaha...SELF PARKING... which is located around the corner which was very inconvenient. We also arrived back from dinner and had leftovers we wanted to eat. i asked the front desk for. plate and she said sorry the restaurant is closed. okay so did u guys throw away all of the plates or something? I understand its closed because of covid but how hard is it to just go get ur guest a plate? there are no microwaves but there is a fridge which only fits all the mini-bar stuff they have in there...so ur restaurant is closed and what are your guests supposed to do with their leftover food? you should be providing a fridge since we have to fend for ourselves. ? I also don't understand why the restaurant is closed... If I could dispute the charge for this entire stay I would. I would never stay here again or recommend this hotel. The only thing I will say is that it was clean. upon entry to the room, I used my Lysol wipes to wipe everything including the remote and saw no dirty residue.

we have stayed in this hotel several times before 2020. we have stayed in hotel 3 times since pandemic started. all three times ,we felt comfortable with room cleanliness and hotel covid safety protocol. I believe that the entire city of Monterey adheres to strict safety protocol. during shelter in place , staff and amenities were understandably limited but i am happy to see that hotel has continued with strict safety guidelines with continued friendliness. this place will still be our family 's goto relaxation 2nd home. its location and closeness to good food and beautiful scenery is always the draw for our family.

For the duration of our trip, we were staying at San Jose Fairmont and this hotel. Both are proclaimed 4 star hotel. Because of the pandemic, things are quite different with regulations and procedures. However, both properties have an entire different approach. Fairmont’s approach is to not offer anything to any guest for your safety. But this hotel approach is executing from an opposite angle. They want to offer MORE amenities because of the pandemic. We are WOW by their staff’s professionalism and friendliness. Every amenity in the room was well thought. Amazing property that we would definitely come back again and recommend to our friends and family. Well done InterContinental Clement Monterey. Also shout out to our check in lady named Samantha who is passionate about what she is doing and I can see her smile thru her mask!

My family and I usually stay at the Monterey Bay Plaza Hotel, but we decided to try this hotel for a change. We have eaten in their restaurant before and it was good and the hotel is pleasing to the eye. It was a Friday and we checked in early. Staff were friendly and professional. After a full day of wandering about the city, we walked back to hotel and to our dismay their restaurant was closed. We Walked over to the Monterey Bay Plaza Hotel and had lunch. Excellent lunch and beautiful view there. We retired to our room for the evening and went to bed at 10:00 pm. The room next door was blasting their music so I called down to the front desk to complain. The lady said she would contact the room. Well needless to say, the loud music continued and we could hear the occupants of this room cussing stating that if we thought the music was loud now, see what happens next. The music turned up and we could hear the occupants cussing presumably at us. I guess they heard us call. We called Back down to the front desk and complained again and the lady said someone would be making contact with the occupants. I told the lady at the front desk that we were not going to put up with this ridiculous noise especially paying these kinds of prices for one night and we wanted a different room. The lady at the front desk said there were no more rooms available. We got so sick and tired of the noise and the cussing next-door to our room and we packed up her bags and walked downstairs to speak with the manager. My wife informed the lady manager that we were going to leave and drive home because we were so upset about the noise these ghetto people were causing. The manager was friendly and understanding but was not able to offer us another room because she said the hotel was full. The manager gave us a discount on the room but not a complete refund and we drove all the way home to Modesto California at 11 PM. I’ve never been so disgusted and disappointed with the hotel in my entire life. From this point forward we will not stay anywhere else but the Monterey Bay Plaza Hotel where we have never been disappointed.

Had a small getaway to Monterey . Found this as a referral from a friend . Great service , top notch rooms , close to everything walking distance . I would recommend staying here if you are in Monterey California !
