Not impressed with hotel or the town. Very limited rooms to have ocean view. Most of their rooms are across the street from main lobby. Glad we had a room not facing cannery row due to noises of people on street. Unhappy with the very soft marshmallow unsupportive bed & pillows, had to wipe down lamp stems and all counter tops which were not fully clean.

This hotel has some of the most friendly and helpful staff I've encountered in a long time. We felt welcome from the second we pulled into the driveway. They allow you to keep your car in the driveway for the check-in and check-out process. We didn't feel rushed to move our car. But of course we didn't take advantage and just leave our car there unnecessarily long. There were always enough luggage carts for guests to use (and without hassle of turning in an ID). The wait for the elevators were never too long. The guests were all friendly to each other (like holding doors open for each other or asking permission to share an elevator). The room was amazing. We got an ocean view suite. It was fully stocked with toiletries and towels. There was a fun soothing table top sand garden on the desk, along with a note that fully discloses their Covid-19 room cleaning policies. There is a mini bar. You are allowed to remove items from the fridge to use for your personal items. As long as you put them all back before you leave, you won't get charged. There was complimentary water in the room and a complimentary bagged continental breakfast placed outside the door in the morning (juice, fruit, muffins). We had a nice fireplace, 2 full bathrooms, and a walk-in closet. The insulation was great. We never heard our neighbors or doors opening or closing. Everything felt so luxurious. The restaurant was closed, but we saw live music being played in the lounge area on the way to the entrance to the patio with fire pits. Self parking is located at the garage about a block away, with in and out privileges. I forget what the hotel fee was though. It's conveniently located right in the middle of cannery row. Bubba Gumps (one of my favorite restaurants) is literally next door. The Aquarium is a short walk away. This will be my new go-to hotel whenever I'm in Monterey.

Extremely unprofessional and unhelpful. My suede shoe was ruined by something raspberry and sticky left under a bench by their fire pit area. When I talked to the manager he said I could have stepped on anything on Cannery Row. However, when I went back to get a picture of the spot I stepped in they had already cleaned it up. Convenient. Instead of being apologetic they made me feel like it was my fault. We could have stayed anywhere but chose to stay here. Next time we will stay elsewhere where they will treat guests like guests and not room rates. In the end this location is more about taking your money and less about taking care of you or responsibility for a dirty hotel. To be honest I feel like I would have gotten better service at a Holiday Inn and still earned my IHG points.
