Recommended by Check Please Bay Area, so after walking Lake Merritt today decided, to try this place for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we tried & the fresh ingredients used. Cute interior with plenty of street parking on Saturday. Will definitely come back & sample something new!!! Excellent spring rolls & yam fritters. Also tried their banh cuon which is a house specialty!

We came here on the recommendation of the reviewers on the PBS Show "Check Please", and were very happy we did. We opted to sit at the bar rather than wait for a table, and had incredibly good service from Carly, an extremely personable bartender. The menu was extensive, and almost all the dishes were delicious (only the Classic Spring Rolls were not as good as the rest). We'll return to try more of the many dishes we ordinarily do not see.

Note: Despite arriving 1/2 hour after opening, the Bahn Cuon were not available. We also found easy, free parking in the area.

When they get the service/front of house kinks out this will be a great place. Corner location makes it light and airy inside, the space itself is inviting. But the service our night was appalling. Drinks (everyones not just ours) were coming out after the food was server -- they serve cocktails so that was not expected! And that was after the server finally showed up to take our order. Back of house/kitchen is excellent. Very fresh and nicely presented food that had layers of flavor. We enjoyed the rice porridge dish and some spicy wings and had enough to take home. Lovely flavors, not too salty and a lot of umami flavors. Will return but hope they resolve the lousy wait service (and rather slow bar tender).

We came here on a Saturday evening. Street parking was easy after 6 PM. It is next to our old favorite Vietnamese restaurant in China town.

We ordered mango salad, very tasty chicken wing ( be careful, if you ask for spicy: it is really spicy!), and taro dumpling along with grilled pork dish.

For drink, we ordered beer flight. The menu did not give me any clue of good beer selection. So I was skeptical when my husband ordered dealer's choice flight. Surprisingly, they do have excellent selection of local beers. The bartender was just wonderful. He came over and explained each drink for us. He was very knows knowledgeable. I was so impressed by him and his choice of beers. I went ahead ordered another flight before even tasted any. He gave us different beers to taste. We felt like in a beer garden. He made our dining experience so fun.

This place stands out from many other China Town's restaurants. They offer not only good ethnic food. But also good drinks and a clean, relatively modern environment. We will definitely go back.

Great Vietnamese thin crepe steamed from rice flour base, which is called "banh cuon". Big portion, price valued! Extensive menu with a variety of food from different regions in Vietnam. Nice modern decorations! Good friendly, professional service!
