We shared the Croque Memsahib (the bacon is insanely good), the Classic Doswaffle (we were still talking about the accompanying sambar in the car later...so good), and JB's Fried Chicken Doswaffle....which I thought would be excessive for three people, but was perfect. Nothing like brunch anywhere else and can't wait to go back.

This place is not your typical Indian restaurant . In fact when you go in, you may not even realize it's Indian food. It's very different (and good) food. The chef had been featured on numerous tv shows. Food is really good. Make sure to make reservations. It's a good place for dinner. Some of the dishes are spicy (but still very good). Portions are small but filling . I highly recommend this place.

We had dinner with friends at Juhu Beach, a very popular spot in the Temescal area. So popular that the noise level is deafening, so forget about intimate conversation. A couple of the appetizer dishes were good, but our main course was nothing special. A bit disappointing. But, yes, this is not your typical North India cuisine, quite different and deserves support for that.

Totally different take on Indian food and drinks. Some very good and innovative while some over priced and very short on meeting the expectations. Still very bold in attempts. Did not find one Indian patron so not very well taken by the local Indian population.

Waffles made from dosa batter was a great idea. Sambar was excellent. Chai was very good but too sweet for my taste. Could not get without sugar as it was prepared with sugar already. Papad with pickles and bhel are way over priced for what is offered in value. The puffed rice in bhel should have been roasted a bit to take the humidity out and make the puffed rice crunchy. On next visit I would skip them.

Shandy drink with'nimbu pain' (lemonade) and Indian spices is too radical for my taste though my son and his wife liked it.

The decoration of the restaurant with family pics and Bollywood movie poster was nice but the placements of them need to be reconsidered. The open kitchen gave a good feeling of confidence in the food they were preparing though giving chef's aprons would have looked better and professional. Overall service was attentive and friendly. Attires of the people serving the food could have been a bit less casual. It looked a little sloppy.

If you are looking for something new on Indian food scene to try I would definitely recommend this place to visit.

Juhu Beach Club offer Californian takes on Indian food. Not quite fusion though you’ll certainly get your dose of Indian spices. The menu is not extensive so it’s easy to try much of it with a group of four or more. All dishes are shareable though for some you might just get a taste. Their signature dish, Lamb Biryani is very popular and they may run out by the time you arrive. All the Indian sliders are very good except for the Vada Pav made with a fried potato puff, which is boring. If you’re not into chicken wings, their Sticky Wings may change your mind. They are incredibly tasty and very meaty. Typical of many Indian restaurants, the wine list is stark. I’d stick to the beers and unusual cocktails. While the atmosphere is sparse the large room is brightly colored and keeps you in a festive mood. Service is good though you sometimes have to ask for new sharing plates and utensils. Too bad it isn’t closer to public transit; the closest BART station is a 15 to 20 minute stroll away. If you want to experience Indian with an unusual twist, then you will definitely like Juhu Beach Club.
