I highly recommend staying at The Centrella. It is located close to the ocean, the shopping and dining, the Monterey Aquarium and Wharf, beautiful walking trails and parks. The Inn is very clean, and the breakfast is wonderful and has something for everyone. The staff at The Centrella is very helpful, friendly, and professional. We loved this charming old hotel. It’s been kept up to date but retains old world charm. Traveling in the time of COVID, a hotel must follow protocols for cleanliness and safety. They did that and managed to make our stay feel normal. Breakfast was surprisingly good (the surprise being no other place we stayed this month has come close to making a decent breakfast). Erna helped with dinner recommendations and directions. It was a bonus to walk to the beach and other sites of interest because of the central location.

One of our best stays anywhere at any price. Quaint old hotel in fabulous neighborhood just 5 minute walk to the beach. Staff was fabulous. Breakfast was yummy and fun! Can’t say enough good things. We will be back!

Cottage was quaint, nice and quiet. Deep bath tub was nice for soaking. There can be a little noise from above, as the cottage has a separate place upstairs as well. Great location, easy to get to the Ocean. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was good, but the menu was small and did not change much from Veggie or Meat egg frittatas. Also had yogurt and fresh fruit, but after 5 days of the same, (good as it was), a little variety would have been nice. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Nice areas to sit outside and relax, and enjoy the perfect Ocean Weather.

Thank you for taking the time to do this review. With the importance of social distancing, I'm glad you were able to enjoy your stay in the cottage. We also have cottages that are stand alone without shared walls. In case, you return, you might want to look into those.
The nice thing about our location is the short walk to the beach from your cottage.

Traveling north on the Pacific Coast Highway and stopped in Pacific Grove for the night and stayed at the Centrella Inn, wow fantastic!
The Inn is a historic building and is just physically beautiful. Located a few blocks from Lovers Beach, downtown and the coastline, this is a perfect stopping point, never had to use the car once while staying there.
Check in was easy and quick. Our room on the 2nd floor was perfect for the night. Large comfortable bed with a warm quilt which we needed, temps in the low 60's. Small sitting area and great bath. Room and bath were very clean as was the common areas in the Inn.
Breakfast is served between 8-10 and we were able to eat outside on the terrace. Great fresh breakfast and nice gardens to eat in.
Overall, great location, historic building and pleasant staff.

Centrella was perfectly located, 2 blocks from Lovers Point and a block from downtown. A beautiful historic inn, well decorated and maintained. We stayed in the Loft, with a few of the ocean from our sitting area and shower. So cute, with with typical valued ceilings, but still spacious. Only real issue were the sea gulls waking us up in the morning - they seemed to nest near the sky lights and roof of the neighbors, lol. We were there during COVID and they did a fabulous job of making us feel both safe, comfortable, and welcomed. Breakfast, while now sit down, was still fabulous - we ordered in person and were given hot frittata, scones, fruit, yogurt parfait,.... For dinner, we were able to pickup delicious food from excellent Restaurants a few blocks away and enjoy on the beautiful patio. We were Intrigued by the other rooms/cabins and will definitely be back.

Those darn seagulls! They are so annoying and they do most of their loud quaking in the evening. Thank you for your patience with that issue. We do have spikes up on the roof and other gadgets to keep them away but they manage somehow.
On a different note, I want to thank you for staying with us. During this COVID time, we try our best to make everyone feel comfortable and safe.
The Lover's Loft is like a little island all on it's own up there. Perfect social distancing room :) We are looking forward to your return.
