The room was clean and good size. We traveled during Covid so they did not serve breakfast but had great coffee. Staff was so helpful and friendly. We had the handicap room and it was very roomy. Wifi was not so great but hey, who needs that so much when you are having a nice trip. We liked that the rooms felt like little cabins. We will come back. I would recommend this hotel.More

We stayed in between Covid shelter in place periods for a quick getaway to the coast. The rooms are huge and are very well maintained. The bathrooms, which often are the quickest to show age or lack of maintenance, were very clean and had lots of counter space. The high ceilings were nice. Parking was easy, right in front of the room. We walked to most places during our stay as it was close enough to the lighthouse (sadly closed), beach and downtown. Downtown might be a bit far for some, but we are walkers I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to PG.
Everyone was super friendly and helpful. the grounds were very clean along with the room. bed was comfy. it was quite at night. close to the Butterfly Sanctuary.

We enjoyed our stay at the Butterfly Grove Inn this past weekend. The room was spacious and very clean. Because of where it's located, we were able to quickly get to the coastline or to downtown P.G. The bed was comfortable and the towels were large and plush (which is important to me!).
We booked through Hotels.com. Easy to find, and welcomed warmly by the Manager and escorted over to our room. The property is colorful, clean, and very spacious - and the pool area is just beautiful. More like a resort than an Inn. Right next door is the Butterfly Sanctuary and it was an educational experience.
Because of the COVID factor, there was no breakfast, but there was coffee on a stand in front of the office every morning from 8 to 10am. We had a coffee pot, refrigerator and microwave in our room, and our room was in The Mansion - which was just perfect! Also because of COVID, there's no maid service daily but you can request additional linens if needed. I appreciated the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room. And the bed was totally comfortable.
This is a dog friendly hotel, and they truly are. plus there were a lot of walking trails and 25 minutes to the beach! My absolute favorite was the quiet at night. We were on the ground floor of the Mansion, and could hear the people walking above, but by 11pm both nights we were there it was perfectly quiet.
I definitely would stay here every time I go to Monterey. It's colorful, friendly, romantic, quiet, and just a perfect satisfying stay.
You are also a right turn and 3 minutes to downtown Pacific Grove. Right now COVID restrictions are dining outside only - but there were plenty of choices.
Nice accommodation but a little run down, in the details, the fridge was packed w ice and needed to be defrosted , an easy fix... why not? The carpeting was worn, this place could be much better with a little effort, the person who checked us in was very nice!
