“It's All About the People”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2012

The rooms? Check. The hotel itself? Check. Yes, it's a lovely boutique hotel that I would recommend to anyone. But what really makes the hotel is the people. After one day I liked the woman at the front desk so much I went out and bought her some kettle corn at the Thursday street fair.

But I like everyone here. And they like people. They remember guests, are thoughtful about their likes and needs, are helpful, and ask thoughtful questions. "How is the conference? How did the meetings go?"

I will come back. Again and again. Thank you Hotel Andreas!

Room Tip: I had room 212 which was quiet and had a lovely couch.

Stayed here after a hectic couple of weeks doing a 1,500 mile Road Trip and 3 busy days in Vegas. This hotel was just what the doctor (ok my wife) ordered. I didn’t want to go to Palm Springs (always thought it was a place to go and die) but once again my wife proved to me that I was utterly wrong. PS is a great place to come and relax and/or enjoy yourself. The Andreas is exceptionally good value for money, the room were very comfortable, a good size (we don’t have the American its got to be a zillion sq ft to be good issue – just functional) and very clean. The pool area with its jacuzzi is nicely done and extremely pleasant whether it be in the morning, afternoon or late evening after dinner, we enjoyed it all. Breakfast (Continental) was also included. It has a great location within easy reach of many GOOD restaurants. In fact we had our best two meals in PS, the evening meal at the local Mexican restaurant (La Casita Restaurant) being far superior to Bellagio’s buffet in Vegas for less than half the price. Only problem was my wife found Margaritas and what a kick it had (she only had one). Lunch at the Fishermans Market and Grill was also a very pleasant experience.
If you are going to PS be sure to take the Aerial Tramway up to the Mount San Jacinto State Park where the smell of pines is invigorating. Make sure you give yourself sufficient time to walk around the park, maybe take a picnic.
We will be popping back to the Andreas next time we are in Southern California.

This hotel is a little hidden gem right in the heart of downtown. The hotel is only rated 2 1/2 stars which is totally off. This little inn is much better than that. The hotel is centrally located right in downtown palm springs within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. It is a very small hotel with a beautiful courtyard with patios and a pool. Absolutely peaceful and so quiet. A great place to just lay the pool and get some down time. The room was very romantic in its feel. A pretty decent size, king size beds, a vaulted beam ceiling and even a fireplace. Very comfortable. They even offer a free continental breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat to the desert.

What a beautiful, clean and friendly boutique hotel. The staff is friendly and very helpful. We did not use our car the entire stay, as the hotel is right down town. The Spa Casino is across the street from the hotel parking lot and out the side door you walk 50 feet and you are on the main drag Palm Canyon, Great location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and replenished all morning. I am so looking forward to my next stay in Palm Springs @ Andreas! I almost did not write a review as I want to keep this 25 room classic to myself.

Room Tip: If you stay on Thursday night there is a street fair that is so much fun! The rooms with balconies...

If you want a good night's sleep don't stay in the front bedrooms. Unfortunately a bar has taken residency in the front of the Andreas and thumping music goes on until 3 in the morning. The hotel staff happily moved us to a quiet suite where we could finally sleep. The manager was great!
Avoid the breakfast if possible. The offerings of bagels, buns etc were very unappealing. Tea and coffee were available 24 hours, a nice touch. The pool was lovely and and a great place to sit and read. Location is close to many restaurants with free parking. Thursday nights a Village Fest sets up markets right in front of the hotel, closing the main street until 10 p.m.

Room Tip: Avoid 220 to 225 as they face Palm Canyon Drive and the noise from the bar below resonates through t...
