After checking on Alexander's Steakhouse on TripAdvisor, we headed there with great anticipation. As expected: fabulous food-beautifully presented, a genteel atmosphere, excellent service, and wallet empty-ing. We each had the Chef’s Special, the sampler of 15 or so courses. We had planned to share so that we could both taste a bit of everything then order more if we were still hungry, but Alexander’s does not allow sharing, at least on this selection. Every bite was a taste sensation of goodness. The chef’s special included a good-sized piece (about 2” square) of A5 Wagu, so rich that it was almost too big a piece, accompanied by a dimpled platter with six salts from around the world; a salad with melt-in-your mouth croutons; tender swordfish; thinly sliced New York in delicious sauce; a killer corn/tamale and popcorn soup; uni with caviar atop a custard; and a dessert, all in bite-sized tastings. We were celebrating my birthday so Alexander’s gifted us a piece of cake complete with 24 carat gold leaf decoration with a hand-written birthday card. At the end of our evening of luxury, our waiter walked to the door and opened it for us as we left. Customer service was A+. Alexander’s Steak House is truly a place to celebrate a special occasion.
