My wife and I had lunch recently at Niner Wine Estates. It is great having lunch options at wineries when out wine tasting and not having to go into city. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor eating areas. Indoor was loud so we sat outside. There are multiple space heaters on cooler day. My wife had the veggie platter with hummus. I had the Niner Dip which is their take on french dip. Both were very good. Niner wine options available including flight for $20. Good service and beautiful scenery. Fun place with high quality food.

Having eaten at just about every winery that offers lunch in Paso, the Restaurant at Niner Wine Estates has definitely the best food. We tried a number of entree’s. Scallops was our favorite. Like the farm fresh to table. There is a nice Chef’s garden for vegetables and herbs. The venue is spacious and relaxing. The service is first rate.

We attended a pop-up dinner, Greek Barbecue in the Vineyards. We happily opted to attend this $100 per person event (including travel from San Diego) because we had had such amazing food at the restaurant and other events. During the reception, another guest mentioned that Chef Meghan had left a while back. Oh oh! Overall, the event was beautiful; like something you'd see in a Food and Wine al fresco article! However, sadly, the food did not measure up -- and we won't be returning. The new chef (former asst chef under Chef Meghan) just does not have the same ability; in fairness, few do. The lamb on a spit was overcooked to a crisp and was tough. Some of the other elements were OK, but not brilliant. However, on an exceptional note, they poured their flagship blend, Fog Catcher, generously. This wine is really all things to all people, all meals, and all everything. It is truly a brilliant wine. Just wish the food had been better.

I recently attended a special dinner at NINER Wine Estates in the restaurant and have dined there on several other occasions.

These dinners are usually ethnically themed and the staff and kitchen geniuses pull off every dish with full respect and authenticity to the country of origin they are presenting.

With a chef's garden just feet from the restaurant supplying many ingredients and relying on local purveyors, you can count on the ultimate in freshness and sound agricultural practices.

We attended the Pho Dinner on Friday night and as usual it far exceeded my expectations. The fresh spring roll appetizers and paired wine samples were outstanding. The main courses consisted of two different Pho dishes and were as good as any i've had in hundreds of Thai restaurants over the decades.

The staff is dedicated to an enjoyable experience and carry themselves with casual but highly professional flair.

One cannot ignore the excellent array of wines either. With over 300 vineyards in the area, NINER Wine Estates is doing everything right on producing high quality, affordable, wines produced in as earth friendly and biodynamic way as any vineyard anywhere.

My only complaint if you could even call it one, because its obvious everyone really enjoys this restaurant is the volume in the dining room. With huge soaring ceilings and a gigantic stone fireplace along with dozens of exuberant diners, it can get a little loud.

I'm looking forward to my next chance to dine here.

Our party of 4 very much enjoyed lunch at Niner. The setting was comfortable, service was very attentive, and the food was overall quite excellent. The short ribs received the highest acclaim, with the salmon sandwich also a hit. The pappardelle were interesting but I would not order that dish again - - a generous portion but short on a sauce that would better tie the dish together. The chocolate tart dessert was outstanding! All in all, an excellent experience that we will likely repeat.
